One of the things that are of value to authors on Virily, or the answer to the question why do I like comments? Is that when you reply to a comment, you as the author get 2 Virils. The person that read your post gives you the upfront (3, for galleries for stories, 5 for quizzes, polls, versus). The comment writer gets 1 Viril for opening the post and one for the comment. If you read an article, it doubles your Virils to leave a comment. Not, by the way, that earning Virils is the only thing that matters. The only reason I am sharing these is to help writers understand the ways that they can get more Virils for the work they are doing already. I also do one to remind folks that if you have an issue that you want to see if there is a solution or workaround to adding it in the comments!
We are a community. The positive atmosphere that is Virily has picked up in the last few days. That is a great feeling because honestly, I love hanging out here on Virily. I did cut my time down to no more than 2 hours during the week, and no more than 3 hours on the weekend. This weekend I already blew that, but it is a different issue. Today I wanted to bring up a couple of discussion topics. The first is the editing of comments. Specifically, once a comment is submitted, being able to go back and edit the comment. I cannot tell you how many typos and errors I have in comments here on Virily. I struggle (wrestle, ok, I hate spelling) with spelling at times.
The other consideration or thought is the ability to edit a post once it is on the site. These two things have been around for a long time. I don’t have answers just questions, and I will add those both to the poll for this morning. I will also add a few other interesting things authors have shared on the last few posts I’ve made. I love the brain trust! The best way to improve a site, any site is to reach out to the people that use it every day and ask them!
Let me end this morning technology post with a quote from my grandfather “when you release a smile into the world; it comes back as two!”

I read posts because it was written by people I like to interact with. Virils or no virils, it makes no difference. But, yes, it would be nice if we can edit comments. And if I am still writing here, the option to edit an already published writeup would be great.
I follow your philosophy my pixie friend! I read what interests me that day.
I have a little delayed this comment. I read them all. I agree with others. I like the idea.
Thanks- comments are welcome whenever! 🙂
Oh how I wish we were all perfect and never had to edit, until then, Yes to all of things you suggested.
My husband was pondering, that’s always interesting, he said, “If they added all that it may make a viril worth less.” I am not sure what he meant and still it is nice to get some kind of recognition and since the value of the viril has been fluid we might feel encouraged seeing the numbers going up.
I think bring people here to read is important in keeping the site fresh.
Sorry Doc I hogged your comment box again.
see bring – it should be bringing. I need an edit!
I do that all the time I understood your point!
There is no size rule on comments!
Your husbands thinking about something that I’ve worried about. The cost of these improvements may, in fact, force them to pay less per Viril.
The two issues you raised are the biggest concern to me on the site. I don’t have any other complaint against Virily apart from the possibility of editing a post and comment.
In the beginning I sent twice for my published post to be reverted into draft so I can edit it. I never received any response and have never bothered since then.
For an article to remain lively and at par with current/new revelations, it needs to be regularly edited and updated.
The problem for Virily with allowing existing posts to be edited is something I will talk about today.
The editing comments one is something I would love to see added!
Ohh… I’m looking forward to your article. I know you will shed light into this.
thank you! shared it this morning
About comments. It is easy to read all posts and comment each if you have a lot of time for Virily. My agenda is too busy, I log in sometimes just for about an hour, and most time takes writing. It’s just impossible to comment on all posts. And actually, it’s great to comment post when you really have what to say, not just “nice post, nice photo, thanks for sharing”.
Yes, I would love if I could edit my published posts and comments. I do not understand why Virily agrees to have posts with accidental mistakes, confusions instead of allowing to correct them. It is all about reputation too.
Good points all –
I agree on the time limit. I probably should cut my time again on Virily.
Thanks!!!

Useful post as usual.
I have to edit my post but cannot do it without Admin help. Waiting patiently (lol)
I have the exact same problem. It can take days. In some cases, I correct the error in the comments and let it go. Sometimes the admin team puts it back in drafts and I fix the error.
I just received the draft and have made the necessary corrections and submitted for approval
May I ask how long approval of new posts is taking?
This quiz post that needed repair came to me just now in a draft form
I feel there is an improvement in receiving approvals – 2 days?
ok,
That is interesting. When we first moved (by we I mean me and a few other long term writers here) from Niume to Virily approvals took at least 3 days and on the weekends (Fridays to Monday) they took 4 and 5 days. I am glad to hear they have gotten faster.
I was on Niume too but yet have to ask myself a question why it took me so long to get here (lol)
I think Niume made a lot of us sad. I know it made me very sad for a year or so.
I hope this all is noticed by admin and things get fixed up the way we want them to be. I have often been frustrated writing up a comment only late realize I made some typos and no way to fix them.
It is my intent to bundle this once we get enough responses and send it to the admin team.
you bring a banquet of feature requests to the table!
did I capture yours correctly? I was trying to make sure I got all the feedback correct!
as usual, you have your finger on the pulse
best to always check. Don’t want to miss.
wanna stay up to speed? increase your sampling…
sampling is always a good way to maintain a connection.
The other option is complete control, but my wife says I am not allowed to ask for that anymore.
yeah, that’s her job. At least, that’s what my married friends tell me
but even when you dictate policy, you still need to see how it is being implemented, so there is still a need for sampling…
My wife tells me the rules she set, are because of sampling. nearly 30 years of sampling.
But your point is well taken.
at least she approved the pinup
Again a very interesting post. At the moment, I do not have major problems except one. I’ve mentioned this problem several times, this is the approval of posts. It was okay for a while, but now the problem has recurred. I know that I can not do anything, I can only breathe deeply and wait for the problem to pass. ? It would also be good if could edit comments.
I agree I would love to edit comment!
The approval process right now, (this is my opinion) seems to be slower because of the overall number of submissions.
Please remind me – what is the difference between guest view and social share?
my understanding is that social share is when you publish on fb/twitter/pintrest and the guest view is when someone clicks on that link…
OK – got it. I was aware of getting Virils in the past from guest views, which one got after sharing on Twitter (etc), but I didn’t realise that just doing the sharing was also rewarded.
this is no longer the case, but it was until recently. I expect the exact values are still in the FAQ, I don’t think that’s ever been updated…
The last time I looked it was in fact still there.
it was 2 virils for the outbound share (per media site)
1 viril per guest view max was 500 a day.
miss those virils!
I think, there was also a cap on the outbound share Viril as well but I don’t remember what that one was.
The guest views stopped more than a year ago.
The outbound shares actually stopped earlier this year.
I think Virils will be higher this month. Because of no earning from guest view,…
That is interesting – can you explain?
All of the respondents seem to agree with the issues at hand, so do I. Let’s hope admin does allow us to edit our posts and comments.
I am truly hopeful, but remember we’ve been asking for some of these things for 3 years.
I would like the social share Viril returned
So would I!!!!! thanks any of the others impacting you?
I find that I have adjusted to not being able to edit by being extra-special-careful on this site when I enter a post or comment…although it would still be nice to add something to a post, etc. And I don’t like waiting days for my posts to appear.
I was doing that (being really careful) but I was spending 4 hours on the weekends catching up.
If I make a mistake oh well.
You are really trying hard, dear friend … First of all, I have a lot of comments on the approval of posts … I do not know in what order they approve the posts; I just feel stupid to wait for 2 days for approval … I welcome the newcomers every day … do not understand me wrong … nothing I have against the new members are very welcome only from all new ones with nothing at all … maybe a handful is great with the rest and so there is nothing and they are approved for 3 posts at a time … to me he can not approve one another every other day … I will slowly get tired of this and I will retreat
I hope it does not come to you retreating!
I do understand the frustration. I am going to compile all of these and share them with the admins.
I seriously think that I’m getting a little off and I wait if the situation improves … it’s my friends’ friends … it seems to me a bit stupid … but I do not know if I should write a request for approval …
My hope is the situation is going to continue to get better. They have not, however, approved many new verified users in the past two years.
I see that …. I do not know why and what kind of criteria they use, but I feel neglected
you should not feel neglected.
There are many people that find great value in what you bring to Virily!!!
We all have the same questions and preferences. I hope they are not sign unnoticed by support, admin, and others at Virily. Nobody likes to see a typo in their post or comment. That has always been an issue for me. All I can do is keep hoping it will be changed.
Smiles are contagious.
I think they do try and have fixed some of our frustrations. I think the ones left are the hardest.
Smiles grow!
