Movers, as promised the initial listing of people that move the posts here on Virily.
1. We lost one of the biggest movers as Albert cannot be on Virily right now do to Real World issues.
2. I removed all duplicate comments (someone that comments on their comments over and over) that is Viril chasing when you do that.
Overall over the past two weeks, views are stable. The average number of engaged Virily authors remains about 50. The site lists more than 2300 total, but many of them are not currently and have not been active for a long time.
The thing I am adding this time is the speed to 100 views of a post. This is really simple, note the time a post is shared, how long to 100 views.
Top mover
(fastest to 100 views)
•CarolDM
Carol has, on average 100 views of her post in less than 24 hours.
Most comments
(this one is a tie) if these people comment, others will comment as well
•CarolDM
•DocAndersen
More data is coming; this is just the first two (post-wedding) weeks of captures. But here are some initial findings.
•Business day on the site is Saturday.
•Slowest day on the site is Wednesday.
•Most commented does not mean trending.
•Trending posts are pushed to the trending portion of the site in 28 or fewer hours.
•Two movers (Albert H and Ghostwriter) have had reduced presence due to real-world issues, that has impacted the overall site traffic.
•Views include guest views when you see them on your post, and you only get Virils for Virly member views (you may have a post with 300 views, but if you view your account you may only get 100 Virils for the post)
oVirils are awarded for comments
oVirils are awarded for replies
oVirils are awarded for member views
o Based on that, 20 comments and replies generate 30 or more Virils for the author.
o That also means you have at least 20 members (you must be a member to comment) views.
o Upvotes do not convey Virils either to the upvoter or the author.
o If you report a comment, your account (author) is debited the two virils for a comment. The comments account also loses the virils for that comment.
The trending posts are visible on the left “Menu” tab of the stone. Also, there are Ranks and some other site related components.

Nothing to say, Your Honor. I am only here to read. If I have the time, I comment on my comment without tracking the number ?
hah.
thanks and you may be seated :-0
Interesting, but unfortunately i have been out of the loop for several weeks due to technical issues. These are not matters that I given much thought to in the past. Perhaps I should!
We’ve missed you!!! Glad you are back, sorry about the technical issues! I am always curious who, when a reading a post increases both the comments and the views since that drives Virils and therefore rewards…
I do not follow so much in detail and exactly what is happening so I really don’t know … I don’t read the other comments …
i understand that 🙂 it isn’t always easy to work through something like a movers project.
It’s really not easy … sometimes I forget which one I already looked at and commented on the post and just release it, then next time I’ll open it back …
there are so many issues in the reading experience on Virily. I would love a running list of what I have read. that would be useful!!!
Yes this list would be really useful, my friend
I didn’t notice any recurring comments. Albert’s absence is noticeable. Let’s hope it’s okay. The same applies here as on other sites, if you do not return a comment the following posts do not comment on them. Of course there are exceptions.
🙂 ITs more a problem of commenting on your own comment (write a sentence, comment on that with another sentence, and then one more time) It basically gives you three or more virils for one comment.
Thanks for the comment!
I was just thinking of Albert yesterday. I hope he knows he is missed here. I know he will be back as soon as he can.
Very detailed information Doc, you teach me things every time.
Thanks Kim!!! I miss Albert and I miss his posts.
A question, Doc. Whenever I reply to a comment on my post, an extra viril is recorded. Now, if an author receives ten comments to their posts and replies to the ten comments; the author receives 10 views.
My wonderment: Do you earn virils for your own views when replying to comments?
no you do not get virils for your view when replying to comments (on your posts).
when are seagulls not hungry?
whoops! that was meant for another post. and now I am commenting on my own comment…
that is horrible! commenting on your own comment with another comment about commenting.
hey, I’m just a bot- blame my developer
🙂
pass the blame dish one spot to the right, please!
when they are eating too much?
always. they’re either eating or looking for food
well now isn’t that special!
seagulls the parasites of the sea!
You totally lost me with the last one. Maybe I will understand if I read it in the morning.
I was curious what the community was interested in tracking if we could track. Like an average number of comments on authors posts things like that…
Oh! How do I often miss the obvious. I get very few comments – that is why I have to write so much. “little girl with no friends”.
well I will be your friend!
🙂
This is very interesting, I cant be on the computer all day but I try to be original. However, sometimes I repeat my comments as I run out of things to say…I will try to change that. I only put in another comment on mine when I think I miss something important out.
People here are important to me, because I have been in groups where people have been ignored and Im not talking about the internet.
I had a comment about an art group in a place where wealthy people go and they ignore or put people down who are not monetary rich.
Well, I just ignore those type of people for money alone does not make you rich, it is what inside that does.
Wow, can I quote that last statement! I love it. You hit it right on the head.
that is a very awesome quote Pam ended with!
If, Pam you were one of the people with this issue of commenting the same I would have let you know.
Literally, it is the exact same comment on multiple posts.
I join Ghostwriter in praising your last quote love it!
Very interesting research or facts. I haven’t noticed any duplicate comments in my posts yet. I really do not know what affects the view of my posts and comments. I have very big differences in views and comments (numerically). I have no idea how I can fix this.
Normally comments and views are one to one except, that people can view a post and not comment..
I have the same issue (normally 10 to 15 times (1 comment 15 views).
Very useful & detailed Virily statistics report, totally agree about 10 or more comments on authors’ comment. As for duplicate comments – never had them. Don’t even know what else to track – you have done such a large-scale work!!! And, of course, also hope that Albert is alright & will return to us – miss his presence on the site.
if he can he will return!
Thanks – it really isn’t that much work but thank you!!!
Albert is definitely missed and I hope he is able to return eventually.
Thank you for this post. I have noticed on my posts lately sometimes when I reply to a comment, the initial comment disappears, making it seem like I am just commenting to myself. Not sure why that happens.
that one is a really strange one. I haven’t seen that – perhaps we should see if anyone else in the community is having that problem?
I replied to a comment on my post but couldn’t see it when I pressed the submit button. Looked for it to no avail. I had to write another reply.
Interesting, thanks for confirming Carol’s issue
That’s happened to me several times and also the double click spacing between paragraphs used to give correct breaks, now some have been posted without spaces, ie. 150 words without line spaces between paragraphs. Andre’
I have noticed this Andre. It has happened to me as well. At least we can still double space after a period. I try to do that when I am writing posts.
double spacing after periods means you took high school typing class 🙂
Thanks, Kim, I ought to have remembered, I took typing 1in junior high, (200 hundred years ago). I just habitually write in Word-doc, do a Grammarly check and post. Regards, Andre’
the double click issue has bitten me several times!
Hasnt happened to me that I know of. Interesting..
It is an interesting problem that apparently has happened to a couple of authors!
Movers , yes Carol and you are certainly that. But I just want to bring to your attention that the posts I have submitted on Wednesday and thereafter are still sitting in the pending list. Only verified users can be movers and the rest have to wait. There would be more movers if posts were approved sooner. Just my thoughts.
Sorry to hear that – I know there is a slow review process at times. For the most part the initial mover’s list is looking at people that drive the views and comments on other authors posts.
It is difficult I know about how long it takes to approve posts.
Yes we are missing albert , do any one know ?
he had a family issue that prevents him from being on as much as he would like.
Ohh, I wondered why I hadn’t seen anything posted by Albert. I miss seeing his posts and comments. He’s such a nice chap.
he is truly a gift, he’s been on and off a few times in the past two months.
I hope Albert is alright, and thank you for this information. I try not to comment toooo many times lol.
he was on about a month ago, ok as recently as about two/three weeks ago.
