I used yesterday’s beautiful day to walk into the forest. Our forests are full of mushrooms, both edible and toxic and life-threatening. However, because I am a bad connoisseur of mushrooms, I did not collect them but made some pictures. I only know the yolks and the foxes, but unfortunately I didn’t find them, so I didn’t collect anything either.

Thanks for viewing and a friendly comment, dear Tas…I don’t, so I prefer to just paint them
That’s not why I’m not picking them up, dear friend
That’s why I don’t pick them because I don’t know them
I hope you understand now that there will be no misunderstanding, dear Tas
I’m glad you got it right
I don’t go picking mushrooms because I don’t know which ones to eat. I buy mushrooms from the store.
Thank you for your visit and nice comment, dear Elenka…just like me … it’s safest
I love mushrooms in the wild and in my garden. I can’t find the ones that are edible. But I love eating mushrooms bought from stores.
Thanks for watching and kind comment, my friend…i also like to buy mushrooms bought … they are the safest
In the meantime, it is good to be an expert at photographing mushrooms before becoming a mushroom connoisseur, my friend.
Thanks for viewing and a friendly comment, dear Albert….i still prefer to paint them than collect them …. it’s safer
I agree that it is the safest and most enjoyable way for us, dear Lado.
Exactly, dear friend … some of them are very dangerous and toxic … you may also die …. of mushrooms? … thanks
What about mushrooms that can make you drunk and fly? Have you ever know it?
No, dear Albert ….. this is the first time I hear you can get drunk from a mushroom
I love the forest. I’m collecting a couple of types of mushrooms that I’m sure are for eating.
Thank you for your visit and nice comment, my friend…i only know the gobbler and the chanterelles, and i also collect you …. i don’t know the others and i just prefer to paint them
I know a few ways to tell if a mushroom is poisonous, but it’s always better to bring the foraged food to centers that can identify the species and tell if they’re edible. Also, they have to be collected in a place that is not polluted as they absorb all toxins and become unhealthy despite being the edible type. Forests are usually safe but a lot of attention must be paid anyway.
Thanks for viewing and a friendly comment, dear friend…i don’t know them best so i prefer not to collect them … i prefer to just paint them … it’s safer haha if i want them i prefer to buy them safer
I get my mushrooms from the market. I’ve never eaten any wild fungus
Thanks for watching and kind comment, my friend…i also prefer to buy them …. wildly i would probably only eat 1x
that’s how the Buddha died. just saying…
Interesting … I didn’t know that
poisoned by a mushroom in a salad, fed to him by a follower
https://www.quora.com/When-and-how-did-Gautama-Buddha-die
It was a premeditated murder … apparently it was mushroom rice
I only know that the mushrooms I buy from the grocery are edible, any other I don’t know if they are or not.
Thank you for your visit and nice comment, my friend…i totally agree with you
I collect only two types that are the ones I know.
Thank you for your visit and nice comment, dear friend…very clever … i only pick two types that i know well
I do see mushrooms growing in the park nearby sometimes, but I don’t collect them as I can’t identify whether they are edible or not.
Thanks for viewing and a friendly comment, my friend…So it is with me … I do not accumulate because they do not know
Thanks for viewing and a friendly comment, dear friend….I don’t collect them because I don’t know them … but I like to eat them and I prefer to buy them or they are given to me by good neighbors … I prefer to just paint them in the woods
You always capture the beauty of all kinds so perfectly,
Thanks for watching and kind comment, dear LaJenna….
I love collecting and eating mushrooms, mostly morels, chanterelles, shaggy manes, and an occasional edible bolete.
Thank you for your visit and nice comment, my friend…I prefer to just paint them because I don’t know them … I know chickens and foxes
I’m pairing up with you on our great mushroom hunt. lol I only feel confident in gathering morels. Did you know they sell the kits online? I saw a morel mushroom kit online, wonder if they grow well…
I should write about that. The answer is that the morel growing kits are next to worthless. Morels are exceptionally difficult to grow and it takes about 3 years for them to bear the fruiting body if they ever do. There are a lot of mushroom cultures that are far easier to grow and most don’t take nearly as long. You can even make your own culture.
I now know, and thank you. They don’t grow here that I know of. I think I caught this after you did write about the kits. I saw the post when I was on my way out yesterday. I will have to go find it for sure. My son and his wife have tried a few of the kits, but none have worked.
I have only hunted Morales. They are very distinct and taste like nuts.
Thanks for viewing and kind comment, dear Kim…I don’t know what Morales is
Rex spelled it correctly. Morels. They look like a brain.
Thanks for the explanation, dear Kim … now I know what sponge is all about
I only buy mushrooms in the supermarket. I would never dare pick them up while hiking. I do not mind dying but I do not want to get poisoned…
Thanks for watching and kind comment, my friend…i totally agree with you …. i also prefer to buy them in the woods but i prefer to paint them
i never learned pal. The danger of the wrong mushroom is well, I don’t go unless I have an expert with me!
That is a pity, my friend. Where you went fishing in Oregon was prime morel country.
it was, and my pal that knows what to look for, added a nice collection (3) of morels and some wild onions to dinner.
I can tell you how to pop a chip off a motherboard and resolder it on.
Picking mushrooms not so much!
I also know some people who collect all kinds of mushrooms … I prefer to paint them
Thank you for your visit and nice comment, dear friend….i also don’t pick them … i’m not a mushroom expert …. in the woods i prefer to paint them than picking it is safer for me … when i want to buy them or get them from my neighbors
i am always a little afraid. I have eaten them, wild mushrooms, but only with an expert handy!
As a kid, I was in the hospital once for mushroom poisoning … my late old mother cooked a mushroom from my uncle’s mushrooms … the whole family poisoned … the elderly just vomited all the kids and we had to go to the hospital … i was the oldest and i was out of hospital for 14 days after 3 days .. since then mushrooms i no longer trust
well I am glad you survived, but sorry you had that experience.
We were really lucky …. if I remember correctly they said they were not toxic but conditionally edible … these mushrooms need to be cooked … old mom cooked for the whole family …. there were quite a few of us
Walking in the countryside and see mushrooms is a great experience.
Thanks for viewing and a friendly comment, my friend….it really is a nice relaxation but if you know the mushrooms well, you quickly pick them up … unfortunately I don’t know them so I prefer not to collect them … I enjoy painting
Will you post a painting depicting mushrooms in the forest?????
All these mushrooms are painted in the woods, dear friend
I know one type only and it is what we pick up at the supermarket, but in the past I used to collect the same type of mushrooms in Cornwall park near by in the morning.
The authorities put poison in the ground to kill the mushrooms and they are no more.
Thanks for watching and kind comment, dear Pamela….and why did the authorities do it?
I honestly don’t know….
But this is not a detriment to both nature and humans, dear friend
Its hard for me to differentiate the good ones from the poisonous ones, I don’t ever take the risk .
Thank you for your visit and nice comment, dear Dawn….I also don’t know them best so I don’t pick them … I don’t break them either … I just prefer to paint them
I can’t differentiate edible from toxic. I have never tasted mushrooms but desire to.
Thanks for viewing and kind comment, dear friend…I also don’t distinguish which ones are edible and which poisonous ones I prefer not to collect …. when I want to buy them
I only know two edible mushrooms – Oyster and Button We grew oysters indoors a long time ago
Thanks for watching and kind comment, dear Grace….i also know only two types …. chick and fox
I do not know good edible mushrooms
Thank you for your visit and nice comment, dear Vidocka….that’s not why I pick them … I just prefer to paint them
You are welcome, Lado
Thanks for your kindness, dear Vida
I don’t have the ability to distinguish edible mushroom.
Thanks for viewing and a friendly comment, my friend….
I like fried mushrooms and one pizza but never eat them raw except in a salad.
Thanks for watching and kind comment, dear Carol….i also like to eat them fried and put in vinegar
Fried mushrooms are good. Mushrooms on steak is good. Mushrooms on pizza with sausage and pepperoni is good.
Thank you for your visit and nice comment, my friend…i also love fried … they are great mushroom steaks … invested in vinegar they are great too
We do enjoy collecting and using mushrooms. Many people in this area sell them. We eat them!
Thanks for viewing and a friendly comment, dear friend….I don’t collect them because I don’t know them … but I like to eat them and I prefer to buy them or they are given to me by good neighbors … I prefer to just paint them in the woods
