The big tiger lilies in the front have almost stopped blooming. I was looking out this morning and noticed a big swallowtail butterfly was enjoying the pollen. I grabbed my camera and eased out the door to get a capture. I was able to get a few without him even moving from this bloom.
When I saw him fly away, the front half of him was yellow with pollen. Very cool.
More of the little things in nature that will catch you off guard and make your day.

Wow, that is one fantastic shot. 🙂 I saw another monarch yesterday! They don’t pause for long in my little world.
Thanks Kim. I am still waiting on the monarchs. They are slow to arrive this year.
I am starting a new assistant editor job online very soon and now found out last night I will be writing an article for an educational magazine. Butterflies mean new life and my new life seems to starting. Beautiful picture.
Oh how cool. Congrats to you! Butterflies are all about change as well. Good luck with your new adventure. Thank you.

wasn’t that the name of the princess from Peter Pan?
As a matter of fact she was called Tiger Lily.
my memories of it are hazy…
It’s an amazing shot. love it
Thanks I appreciate you!
Wooow, Carol. It made you another fantastic shot. Lucky girl. ?
Thank you so much, that means a lot my friend.
I saw a Black Swallowtail while I was out walking my dog earlier. Unfortunately it was way too windy to get a photo.
I got one of those too, just haven’t posted it yet They are gorgeous, right!
They certainly are. I saw a monarch this morning, also but it wasn’t anywhere I could get to to photograph it.
I have not seen any monarchs yet.
What a nice capture you’ve got there! There are two plants in my yard that always attract a kind of butterfly to lay eggs there, hence we’ve got some caterpillars as well. (I don’t know what species they are.) I also always go to the park nearby and find some different species of butterflies there as well.
That is great. I love finding caterpillars, they are usually moths but cool to identify them.
This is a great moment you froze here. The flowers you planted and the butterflies that visit them are temporary but this image is a lasting record of all that. Yes , it is very cool.
You are so right Howard. I have tons of photos on my computer. I add to the library every day.
That’s a beautiful capture of the butterfly and the gorgeous flower.
Thanks, I was excited to get this shot.
