Bad news for Romanians! The first case of coronavirus was registered. The announcement was made a few minutes ago. The person found positively is a young man who came in contact with a 71-year-old Italian from Rimini, infected with coronavirus, who visited Romania last week. The alert is maximum because these days, many Romanians from Italy, the area where numerous cases of the novel coronavirus Covid-19 were reported, have decided to return to Romania.

Are you afraid of catching coronavirus?

Yes

No

I’m sorry to hear that. I’m just waiting for the first case in our country to be recorded.
I knew that it would be only a matter of time before the Coronavirus would reach Romania, but still I felt a knot in my stomach last night when the first case of infection was confirmed. I’m trying not to panic and keep calm, but I am truly worried that, in spite of all the measures taken by the authorities, it might spread and cause havoc in our country!
Eu ma astept la ce este mai rau pentru ca se pare ca politicienii nostri au alta prioritati, nu combaterea coronavirusului.
Sorry to hear. We’ve had several flights sent to quarantine here in San Diego, but no cases have been reported here.
I hope you don’t have such cases. It is inevitable with us. Many Romanians working in Italy return home these days. We expect more cases.
Paying attention to our own immune system is one of the important steps to prevent this new virus. Also make sure to always wash hand with sanitizer before eating or touch your face.
Respecting hygiene has always been a priority. The immune system weakens as we get older. We have nothing to do here.
The virus is not as deadly as SARS but much more infectious. It spreads rather quick and easily with contact. Contact Tracking will be difficult and it takes responsibility for people who have contact to avoid getting into contact with others.
Washing of the hands and using hand sanitizer is the key to killing the virus.
It is easy to wash, but disinfectants have disappeared from the market.
It happens … even till now, thermometer is out of stock here!!
We just have more face masks and sanitizers arriving. They’ve been out for almost 2 weeks prior!
Anyway, just try to wash your hands as much as possible and avoid touching your face with your hands. The virus is more of a contact/fluid contact. That’s what I was told and the best way to wash, wash, wash!
Thank you for your advice!
I just wrote a post about the same thing, honestly we need to take precautions, be alert and proactive.
We do all what we can but I don’t think it’s enough. The authorities must take appropriate measures. Unfortunately I don’t think they did enough.
Interesting fact – the flu has killed more people in the US than the pandemic has killed in the world. But we do have to be aware.
Plan, prepare and pay attention.
“Plan, prepare and pay attention” is the best advice!
i got that from my mother. She always says that! She spent 40 years as a healthcare professional!
It is a scary virus, indeed. That’s why I don’t go out unless it’s something really important.
We can’t always stay at home. But we must be vigilant.
I am sorry to hear that. We have been following the news closely as we are quite near to China and we already have infected cases. Hope the issue will be under control very soon.
Unfortunately, this virus has spread all over the world.
We need to see this outbreak in perspective. This is a previously unknown variety of the corona influenza virus that has the ability to spread quickly. However, the disease itself is not particularly severe to people who are otherwise in good health.
Other strains of influenza are far more prevalent and kill many more people – proportionately – than this new strain is doing.
Not for the first time, the world is panicking for no good reason.
Panic is worse than the disease itself. The alarming news transmitted in the mass media is maintaining this panic.
Absolutely! The economic harm already caused has been enormous – people not going to work, airlines having to cancel flights, hotels having to close, etc.
The consequences of this situation will probably be much worse than we expected.
There are 12 cases in Spain. Wearin masks do nothing unless you are with a sick person. The best is to wash hands often.
This virus is becoming more and more widespread.
You are right – this virus is not spread by being breathed in! However, infected hands taken to the face may well transmit the virus, so in that respect, a face mask could be useful – although you still have to take it off if you want to eat or drink!
People would protect themselves better by wearing rubber gloves at all times!
Unfortunately, all these materials disappeared from the market quickly. Also, their price has increased 100 times from the initial price. The crooks take advantage of this situation.
Yes I heard I live in Romania too…it’s very upsetting I hope it doesn’t spread.
Really? Where do you live in Romania?
I am not afraid, but I am concerned because it is a stronger version of the flu.
It is much more dangerous for the elderly! Young people are more optimistic!
Sorry to hear this and I hope you will remain safe and unaffected by the spread of this disease.
I am optimistic that things will move in a positive direction.
As per the news a while ago, there are now 41 countries affected by the corona virus called COVID-19.
I’m afraid there will be many more. The virus spreads rapidly.
It has gone beyond China and yes India has it too but not close to where I am.
I am glad to hear that you are not in a dangerous area. I am about 200 km from the affected area.
The cases are increasing worldwide. Not a good sign.
That is right. It spreads rapidly.
Really bad news, dear Ileana …. we don’t have one yet, but we are neighbors with Italy …. I think it’s only a matter of time before he will show up to us …. as dangerous as they do panic
Panic is the worst. People are already scared. I hope everything will go in a positive way.
In our country, so far, not all the shops have been robbed …. this is not normal … but it is also not so dangerous …. mortality is 2% and even more so are the elderly and at risk groups of people .. ..If I am so destined, I will just get it
I think it’s a matter of hours not days when we will get this virus too. People should think more before traveling to contaminated areas. After all, if get infected, they share a virus with others.
Unfortunately it is a fast-moving virus. The Italian man didn’t know he was infected. He found out after returning to Italy.
So sorry to hear that! A lot of Bulgarians are in Italy too and I can imagine them deciding to return in fear of the virus.
It is a state of maximum alert. There are 26 people quarantined, and over 2000 people isolated at home.
I think this virus is dangerous but also we need to have higher immunity.
It is all the more dangerous as there is no treatment yet for it.
I know. I am afraid Corona virus will come in my country.
Such a scary virus. So many unknowns.
Everything that is unknown is scary. I hope the specialists will find a vaccine against it as soon as possible.
I hope so too. I read today that an American doctor has found form CT images that it may start in the lungs.
