Resuming the Let's Make Virily Better Series!!!!

I promised I would reopen the how can we make Virily Better series from last summer. Here we go! Let’s sadly set some rules for this. First off, this is a community, so let’s try to keep the discourse civil! All suggestions will be included, and nothing is automatically wrong. Please consider that before you post a comment. It is ok to disagree, provide facts, and move on! I am starting with the three that are not currently available on the platform that we asked for back in July. We must talk about the merits of each of these possible features rather than attacking specific users or ideas. Ok? The first three are the ones that were interesting all along.

  • I am uploading images more significant than eight megs in size.
  • It can edit posts after they are published (or in the drafts now)!
  • It can edit comments after they are submitted.
  • More communication from the admin/moderator team

I know that we had edited for a time, but we do not now. The remainder of our asks from July were provided in September and January updates to the platform. I will pull the votes together and publish the results on Easter Sunday (for those who celebrate). Throughout the time I’ve spent here, I’ve seen rules implemented because of people not always doing the right things. We have a comment limit (20 or more characters) because there are people that abused the comments. We also have a comment limit for virils earned in a day because that was abused. We have a maximum number of posts because people abused that. We now have a 20 viril penalty for reported comments; as far as I can tell, they do not return the comment or the virils any longer.

As a community, we have to work together. Let’s try and have a rational and reasonable discussion on how we can help the admin and moderator teams better meet our needs.

  1. I would love to be able to re-edit my posts again because it just urks me when I have a simple typo that I cannot fix. In order to move on from the simple mistake, I have to remind myself that I am human and that not everything can be perfect. I do know that others may look at certain mistakes and be turned off from the site completely. They need to allow re-edits or at least get someone that can re-edit it after a request has been made. What fuels me to post on this site is that outside viewership, but how can I gain that with simple mistakes that I cannot go back and fix.

  5. I do not really need to hear more often from the site. I do not care if I can´t edit a comment or a post. If I make a mistake in one post I can comment on it and if I make a mistake in a comment I can write another comment telling it. It will be better it all the things you say are implemented but I do not need it. What I do not like is that now you do not receive Virilys for commenting on other posts. I enjoyed commenting on other posts.

  6. I would like them to return the edit button on posts. This is an important element. Also, communication from the admin is lacking. I’m not sure why they don’t like communicating with the community or even updating on several issues.

  10. I often upload big pictures and I haven’t had problems with the limits, so I am personally not concerned with this. The rest – all yes from me.

    Suggestions:
    When reporting a comment, I think there should be a step that asks about the reason – offensive, spam, etc. This will also eliminate the chance of accidental reporting.
    (I don’t know much about this yet, but it seems that even when the report is revised and the comment is approved again, the penalty still stays – that’s not okay if someone decides to do it on a large scale against a user they dislike.)

    I haven’t used that function yet, but people complain that if they block a user, that user can still reach them. This could use some work too.

  16. More interaction from moderators please, keep us informed about changes.
    These are my suggestions to the mods.

    Please read comments before deleting them. Read all the comments surrounding the reported issue so you have a full picture.
    Don’t allow editing of comments here until people use the comment facility properly.
    Don’t penalize everyone because a few people play the system
    Editing of posts should allowed after ensuring that all loop holes are closed.
    Just based on my short experience here.
