I painted this picture of a butterfly on the way from the store. He was sitting on the sidewalk and was even at ease so I could picture him. Night butterflies or nightmares (witches) are usually less colorful than daytime butterflies. They are observed at night or at dusk. In the daytime, the trees stand dormant or on deciduous leaves where they are difficult to see due to their brown-gray color. We know of at least 150,000 different night butterflies; by comparison, there are only about 15,000 daily. While it is true that the vast majority of them fly at dusk and at night, there are quite a few daily planes. Nightshades, such as silkworm, are useful to humans, but there are also some types of harmful ones. These include butterflies that destroy cereals, fruits and trees.

Great capture pal! sadly that is a moth, you can tell by the wings.
Thank you for your visit and nice comment, dear friend….it can also be a moth … only i haven’t seen such a big moth
yes, overall moths are smaller, but there are many large moths. The luna moth (my favorite) is the largest in the US, very big!
Thanks for the kind explanation, dear friend … anything is possible today
anything is possible –
butterflies have split wings, moths have a single wing.
And I learned something new again, dear friend … what’s the difference
I see lots of butterflies in my garden. But I think I have never seen a night butterfly.
Thanks for viewing and kind comment, my friend….since i also don’t know exactly what it is … i read this on the internet
interesting that you equate moths with witches
Thanks for watching and kind comment, my friend….I don’t know if the moth is so big … but I won’t say … as far as I know, the moth is much smaller and it’s not so colorful either
it’s a wide community. the one you have here is probably a hawk moth…
I will believe you, because I do not get to know the mole best, my friend
be on the look out for my render of a hawk moth
I will definitely pay attention, my friend
It looks like a moth to me or is it?
Thank you for your visit and kind comment, dear friend…I don’t know if the moth is that big
Great shot. I haven’t seen him yet
