No, it is not snowing in September. Actually we are still having a heatwave. Triple digits this week. I am so ready for cooler weather.
Was browsing through my photo library and found this one from 2010. We rarely get snow, but on this day we got several inches. I snapped several photos. This little butterfly house on the deck had icicles hanging on the side.
I wish for more weather like this soon!

My favorite season is Fall, but it never last very long. Great photo!
Mine too but sometimes it gets skipped here, kind of like spring did. Straight to summer! Thanks.
My favorite season is Spring and I don’t like heat waves but I also hate very cold weather.
The in between weather is nice if you can find it.
I enjoy every weather, every weather has its own charm because it give us hope,so hot is convert in very cool after some time, fall ‘ll be changed with spring, these are all blessing of GOD and charm of nature. one weather ,one food all the time ‘ll make us bore.
I am not a fan of hot weather, I see no hope right now until the weather cools.
It’s extremely hot over here. Living close to the equator isn’t a joke. But we are expecting some rain starting October. I prefer cold.
That is too bad for you, I am so over hot weather. I like the cold as well.
It;s really hot these few days, in fact for the past week it has been hot …
This photo is quite healing actually, viewing it when the weather is soo hot!!
For weeks we have had a heatwave. 🙁
I tried thinking snow as I felt the heat!
There is a magic when it is cold. I much prefer cold to hot!
Cool is perfect but that is only two months of the year (April and October)
If we are lucky, we will get cool in those months. I don’t know, lately it seems from cold too hot.
it really does, kinda sad
I don’t even want to think about snow.
I know you get a lot where you are Gary. I would take it right now over these triple digits and no rain.
It’s not that hot here – 90° today – but it’s not just the temperature. I have a hard time getting around in the snow. It may even be worse this year because I’m having a medical issue which requires me to use a walker to get around.
Oh Carol thank you so much for posting this beautiful snow picture. I cannot wait for snow even though here since about 2 weeks, the heat has relented. I can imagine myself in that snow right now. Again a big thanks. BTW that butterfly house is so pretty. Did you paint it yourself? Say hi to the Dude and Brendel from me….
You are so welcome, it helped me get through the day. No, the house was a gift. It is mainly for decoration on my deck. The birds would land on top in the spring. I will tell them hi, thank you!
Beautiful picture. Almost like an oxymoron in painting. Spring butterflies and icicles.
Thanks, trying to find ways to cool off.
I kive that photo. You know, now that I am back in the states and in Florida I do not do much complaining about the heat when it rises. Back in Latvia, I experienced plenty of cold times and temp way down in the minuses and even one long-ago October when it was snowing so my bones get to warm up now.
I try really hard not to complain but the grass is turning brown and no rain in the forecast and triple digits are hard to deal with.
I love weather in the range of 10-15 degree C. However, I have experienced snow in the month of May and June when it’s too hot in plains but snows in Himalaya which is not far off from my Indian house.
Rain would be nice. A cool rain. No mush to ask for.
What is the butterfly house for. Do they come there in groups?
We have no extremes when it comes to weather Even then I prefer colder months
That was the original intent. But they never used it. I only had a few wasps. So it was actually just decoration. Some say they will go inside for shelter from storms, for example. But I never saw one enter.
I am touched Carol. You will do anything to have butterflies in your life.
How kind of you to say. I do what I can to see them in the garden. The butterflies and bluebirds are all about Dustin. I feel his presence when they are around.
I am so tempted to ask about Dustin May be you could in a message?
Even though I don’t like hot weather, I don’t even want winter. Let him wait a little longer. ?
I prefer cool weather, in between, but today was just a scorcher once again.
I dread snow because my body couldn’t handle the cold weather.
I like the cool weather but the temperatures have been so hot for so long, we just need relief.
I was quite surprised to see it’s already snowing in September, glad that you explained it. 😀
I am living in a tropical country where almost everyday is very hot, hence I would love to have cold weather.
I am just wishing it would snow because it is so hot! I cannot imagine hot all the time.
We are finally getting a few drops of rain right now.
i wish I can see the snow as well. Hopefully the cold weather will arrive in your area very soon, though we won’t even get one. 😛
I hope so, and thank you!
In any case, I don’t like winter, dear Carol … not cold or snow
I like it cool, but with all of this heat right now, I will take anything! Relief!
A few raindrops are falling now, that is helping.
In Auckland we had 3 years of hot weather in Summer and every year it has got hotter. We had hardly any rain and even though August had quite a lot of rain, we in Auckland have been told to conserve our water use.
I really feel sorry for the Australians,,,not NZ people but next door, it has been over 40 degree celsius heat and their beaches have ruthless sharks that attack swimmers.
Plus bush fires. Australia is an unforgiving country and harsh.
However the New Zealanders and Australians help each other in disasters we are there for each other.
My friend in Queensland loves the hot weather. I never have. We really need some relief, at least a little rain. I also heard about the sharks in AU.
And that is great how you all help each other during disasters. That is not always the care.
I like it hot, even though I enjoy cooler fall weather
I cannot handle these 100 degrees, too much, you can hardly breathe.
I should have added the date of this photo was January 30, 2010.
Too bad we cannot edit posts after they are published!
