Saturday's Critters – Can you identify this insect?

In a previous post I presented the larva of this bug.As I said there, this beetle was a nightmare of my childhood, because my mother asked me to get it whenever I found  in the garden. This bug is about 10 mm in length. As you can see it is yellow-orange with many black stripes on the elytra. The head has a triangular black patch and the chest has irregular black markings. This bug is a pest that produces numerous damage both in potato crops and in eggplant or tomato crops.

I have to admit that I do not like this bug at all but I found this beetle in the park on a solanum dulcamara plant and decided to take a picture for Saturday’s Critters Challenge

… in the picture it looks good.

  • Do you remember the name of this bug??

    • False Potato Beetle
    • Colorado potato beetle

What do you think?
