Let’s go out with a bang!
Today I am going to talk about three different things everyone can do. There are three distinct ways anyone can help any other author.
- Leave a comment; no one is asking you to write a three-volume book, leave a comment that says I enjoyed your post.
- Join a challenge and be part of the broader community
- Share the works of others on various social sites.
Do any one or two of these, and you are helping the site. Do all three, and you are a member of the first egg club! We are a community; we can control our destiny, LET’s GO OUT WITH A BANG! (or better yet let’s turn the ship and not have to go out at all)!
IF we all focus on helping other authors, they will, over time, begin to help us. The reality of this site right now is that we have a vast number of external views that keep the site alive. But external opinions don’t help authors on the site directly. They help the site and, by default, that allows the authors. I know a lot of people are angry about not getting virils for commenting on the works of others. I do genuinely understand that anger. But, when you don’t say, you hurt the author, not the site. The site has a vast number of external views now. Some authors routinely generate more than 400 views per post in ten days. That is a huge revenue number for the site.

You mention some good ideas there, Doc. Having fun is a main thing and interacting with others with the challenges and comments etc.
it is really important to have fun and help others when we can!
A good way to help Virily is by Clicking the advertisements on the site.
as long as you don’t do the spam ones!
yes, clicking the amazing links gets Virily even more money.
they also gain money when there are external views.

I am all for posting, commenting, and having fun. I sure hope we can all make this a grand site again. However, can you tell me where everyone has gone? I enjoy interacting with the people here but it seems to have become a very small circle of us and many names I knew and recognized I no longer see here. As Bugs Bunny said What’s up Doc?
a number of them are angry over not getting virils for comments on other authors’ posts. So they no longer comment.
A number are gone for various reasons. some health-related (not the bad medical issue) and some just got tired of all the meanness.
Well I didn’t answer the last one, because there are some good names to call people like the hero, friend, and stuff I say in public and private all the time In fact DocAndersen, I think you are a warrior and I think that is an a-okay comment.
I am a little contrary today.

I do what I can no one is asking me anything which is great but I will not ask anything of anyone either.
I sometimes do ask questions but I believe that is OK..? I try to be polite and non intrusive.
It is only when you question that you learn something….
Asking questions is great – it is part of a community. Ask away!!!

it is the hard reality for many in IT. For those of us here, it is a hard reality as well.
I have a couple of friends who are IT employees. I also had very good relationships with IT employees at work.
we (in IT) always knew the people that weren’t mean to us. When people like you called, we made sure you were taken care of right away!
You are right. Often they did to me what “service” via the species.
it really is only natural to take care of those that are nice to you. i see that all the time. I know many people that do work for others, that never get a thank you.
I also know a lot of “ungrateful” people. I try to avoid them.
If I take the time to help someone, i try to help. I find that when people reject help after receiving it, that is the person I avoid!
I really have to wonder why anyone would vote ‘no’ to your 2 questions!
i suspect it is the people that use the PM system to call names and abuse people.
Maybe someone hit no by mistake.
