,I am going to start with some known Virily issues and workarounds. Please understand that I am not condoning the need for or use of workarounds.
- Safari connections to Virily – at times Safari is a limited browser; in fact, many Safari users report slowness when connecting to the site.
- Try a different browser such as Chrome or Mosaic.
- Clear your browser cache (there is an impact in that you lose all stored passwords for all sites when doing this.)
- Chrome users on Windows – often experience 524 errors.
- Reduce your number of open browser windows. The more you have, the more taxing the browser is on your computer.

- Start Chrome in safe mode (extensions off). Sometimes Browser extensions impact your ability to stay connected.
- Try Edge or IE.
The reality of browsers today is that they do so much more than the original browsers did. If you look at Opera or Mosiac, you will be reminded of the old Intender Explorer or the Netscape browser of years ago. Simple, and ultimately you get what you get. The modern browsers include support for Quicktime, Adobe Flash, Java, image reading, and video rendering (MP3, MP4).
Every browser is different. The musical, FireFox, Opera, Intenet Explorer, Chrome, Safari, Edge all have different implementations of the browsing window.
I do not use these posts to excuse the 503, 504, and 524 errors. I just want to make sure that everyone knows there are options. If something doesn’t work, try a different way! I would much prefer the Virily Admin team to post something other than articles about renting apartments and or buying a couch. But in the two-plus years, I’ve been here, they communicate less and less. Since I still get paid from this site, I am moving on without expecting the admin team to respond.

I preferer to use Chrome. I’m inclined to just leave a site that isn’t’ working right for me rather than mess with work-arounds I’m not sure will work even if I try them. There is always somewhere else to work until things are working — if I even remember to come back then. Since no earnings are showing for last month, this month, or this last week, and I have been active during that time, I’m not very motivated to keep working here until I see something happen. I was paid once before I went inactive for a few months.
I am heading down your path more and more! I use different browsers at work, so I have them already installed.
Hmmmmm I only use Chrome. That or since I accessed your posts thru BIB, I use FB. If I want to tweet it, I need to open it in Chrome.
It is interesting. Some people struggle with various browsers.
Can some body help , Views 200 but virily point only 50 why ? Is there any limit of viewing the content ?
I am really sorry, that is frustrating but there are many variables in that question.
1. the 200 views are clearly visible on the post header?
2. How do you know you’ve only gotten 50 virils?
I have monitored it and If you could see the few of my article you will come to know that at some point visitor watching my content continuously and no virily i receive. In article it shows the views but No virily awarded,
Few days back , my article views is around 1.5K but virily awarded was only 250.
that is interesting but I suspect probably non-member (people registered) on Virily.
You do know that Viril awards are often 2 to 3 days in arrears?

If I don’t get a response from the admins (and I do not often) I find the back door! Complaining about not hearing, does me no good. Finding a new way that fixes the issue – perfect!
to be fair, you have the option to test, diagnose and perhaps even identify a workaround. not everyone has that skillset

illustrators are meant to have a field they specialize in, but I can’t do that, I have so many interests…
So are software architects, that is why I became a solution architect so I could dabble with the other crap!

illustration is the type of art I do, although when I don’t have a client I suppose I am technically doing fine art…

I’ve had good managers over the years. They always started out saying what do you want to be. Then helped me understand either that what i wanted to do was either right or wrong.
Good managers are rare. I’ve had many more bad managers over the years.

What computer OS are you running? If it is windows open your task manager and check to see how much memory you are consuming with your browser. That sometimes causes problems with Virily.
Again the right information for me. I’ll try other browsers. I’m currently working on Chrome and Opera. And another question (perhaps “stupid”). How do I clear the cache?
Are you having problems with Opera? I haven’t been so far, but I don’t use it every day.
Yes, occasionally I have problems with the Opera. I do not use Opera regularly.
i am trying the site with Opera today. So far things are working, but i’ve had two 503 errors.
I will try again with the Opera when I have problems.

Going on the site under an incognito window cuts down on errors immensely. I use Firefox and I only have about a couple of errors per week.
I’ve noticed similar behavior, using browsers other than Chrome and Safari. Thanks I will try Firefox again!
I almost always clear cache every time I open a browser, and the main one is Firefox for it’s my daily browser, but if the error comes I will definitely try to use Chrome, sometimes it work but sometimes don’t. To be sure, I will continue to reload until successful or bored, and of course, it will be time consuming.
Time lost for me is the biggest frustration. It is annoying when the errors come fast and furious.
I think that’s the reason why many friends complain here.
I am sure that is part of the issue. It is frustrating. The site could be better. But, we are still getting paid.

I’ve been testing the site with a number of different browsers. I will say that with edge you get more 524 errors than with the other browsers I am using.
The site is much slower with Safari.
But, that is your browser, and you should use what you like to use!
I don’t pay attention to the numbers. I am not sure. The problem I am having lately is trying to reply to comments made if you have to select View more.
I forgot to say that when I do try to reply to those comments, it goes to a blank white page with one O on it.
That feels like a bug – can you post that issue in the user group?
replying to comments, really? any particular issue (like comments in a picture) or just comments in general?

When I try to reply to comments on a picture in an article, only on the second page of comments, where you have to click view more replies is when it happens. Browser is Google.
I haven’t experienced that, not sure why it is happening. I get comments on pictures in articles almost every day.
Hopefully that was in the fix, update.

I haven’t had enough comments on my post that I made to know. The comments have to go to the second page of comments. I hope that makes sense.
it does completely, i get that at least once a day. I’ve found that using edge with the newest version really works better than Chrome did with the old version.
I think I should pay more attention to exactly what errors I get! I am going to learn all this please be patient with dumb questions from an old lady.
I don’t believe there is such a thing as a dumb question! Ask anything. If I can’t answer I always have “I don’t know!”
This is good information. I always receive 504 error though I try different browsers when one fails. Chrome is not that bad.
I’m still expecting to be paid…for the first time. Not sure why they’re late.
I miss Netscape.
They only pay the last 2/3 days of the month. They are always one month in arrears. So if you cracked the revenue line in March, you won’t get paid until the end of April.
I switch browsers all the time because of the 504 and 503 errors.
