Japanese Honeysuckle continues to bloom on my fence. Hummingbirds enjoy the blooms filled with fragrant nectar. Butterflies will be here soon to enjoy as well. These blooms always take me back to my childhood. I would pick bouquets and take them to my Mother.
These blooms are always a favorite to see and smell in my garden. Sharing with today’s Nature Tuesday challenge.

Such a beautiful flower! I have heard the name of the herb in Bulgarian, but I had no idea it’s so beautiful.
Yes, the Maori children introduced me to the nectar of honeysuckle but it was a different shade a cream shade..nice photo
I love the smells of Honeysuckles from childhood. I think remember tasting them.
Same here my friend, they are great flowers to have.
I am sure you would not miss the Hummingbirds when they visit these Honeysuckle plants. Eager to see those pictures too.
Thanks, I have to be quick to catch those fast hummingbirds, I am trying!
we had two honeysuckle fences when I was a kid. The first one, in a house we lived in for 5 years. The second was on the farm.
Dad moved to bamboo later!
Great memories Doc. They grew wild all over growing up for us.
In the part of the world you grew up in, I would be they were all over!
Yes, it was a southern thing.
I can imagine the fragrance just from looking at your picture.
Yes the entire yard smells delicious right now!
Just incredible beauty!!! Your photo is so amazing, as always!!!
How kind of you, I enjoy the flowers.
Great flower, great image. We have a similar flower but I can’t remember its local name.
That is great and would love to know the name.
What a lovely picture Carol. The name of this flower got me wishing for some sweet, sweet honey.
Good to see you! Thank you, I enjoyed them growing up as they grew wild.
since the olfactory sense ties into our limbic brains, smells are more likely to trigger intense memories than any of the other senses…
You are right and these flowers definitely have a smell.
which is odd, since smell is our weakest sense
Can’t explain it, but those memories can take me right back to a moment in time.
there is a solid scientific explanation for it, but that doesn’t make the experience any less mystical
I love hummingbirds. Sunflowers take me back to my childhood. We had several planted next to the driveway; and I and my friends used to stand there and eat the ripe seeds from the flowers.
You know I do as well. Those are good memories you have.
Beautiful flowers.It smells so lovely.
Thank you so much! 🙂
These flowers are something special and also your fence with flowers ?
Thanks, I really like the honeysuckle blooms on the fence. The hummingbirds do too.
Beautiful pictures for beautiful flowers, Carol.
The flower that often brings me to childhood is plumeria, coz there are rows of those flower trees all the way to the school.
Thank my dear friend Albert. They smell absolutely wonderful as well.
Plumeria is stunning. I had a friend in Florida once that had one growing. It was lovely.
These flowers are really special, dear friend … if I tell you that I did not care about flowers, I’ve learned a lot from Virilya
Thanks, I really like the blooms on the fence and in the yard. I have also learned a lot here.
Another thing I enjoy is seeing flowers in my yard all over the world sometimes.
Beautiful flowers, thanks for sharing.
Thank you for the visit!
Have a great evening.
Honeysuckle is one of my favourite flowers. It smells so lovely.
Yes it is mine as well, thanks!
Very nice flowers. Nice photo.
Thank you so much for your kindness.
Have a good rest of the day.
Many times I commend that beauty I have seen in yellow and white. The kitty returns me to the winters of my childhood.
Thank you. I know I share these flowers often but they are just so cool to me. The kitty also brings good memories.
I have many animal memories as well.
Honeysuckle has a beautiful aroma when in bloom. … The flowers have a sweet nectar that is delicious, but that is the only part of the plant you should eat. The berries are poisonous
Yes my yard has a nice smell for sure. Love these blooms.
I never eat any blooms.
Nice photo of honey suckles!!
Well, flowers hardly brings back memories
except the Ixora which I drank from :p
Thanks, I love seeing these bloom. They make me happy. 🙂
