Sharing a bloom from Dustin’s garden. This is my white butterfly bush blooming for the first time this year. I also have the black bush that is blooming a few feet from this one.
The garden is full of color, waiting on the butterflies. They will be here soon. The bees and hummingbirds are visiting.
Metamorphosis has always been the greatest symbol of change for poets and artists. Imagine that you could be a caterpillar one moment and a butterfly the next. ~Louie Schwartzberg

Amazing picture, We don’t have these year.
I’m waiting for the hummingbirds that we get occasionally. Haven’t seen any butterflies.
The butterflies came early this year even before the flowers started blooming.
I love the white. Great shot too. Yes, I saw two monarchs, many little white fast ones. And a bunch of the tiny yellow ones.
Thanks, I planted this one a few years back. No butterflies yet.
Just a few years? I thought you had it longer… I went out and shot mine again after this post. You have inspired me once again.
OK, so I don’t see any butterflies growing out of this bush 😉
love the picture!!!!
I wish! They will be here soon.
you would be Gardner of the century if you could grow butterflies!
It’s still a little too chilly here, but I have two huge marmots that seem to consider my yard their new home!
I am hoping for a warm up!
It will be 90 degrees here today!
Nice photo!!! hehe
I usually see more moths than butterflies! 😕
I am not sure that I would always know the difference!
I go by their colours and usually butterflies don’t go into houses and rooms …
that is how I see it :p
I should do a post on this subject.
One of the easiest ways to tell the difference between a butterfly and a moth is to look at the antennae. A butterfly’s antennae are club-shaped with a long shaft and a bulb at the end. A moth’s antennae are feathery or saw-edged.
Really Carol, pls do a post about it!!!
🙂
Lovely flower! I’m not sure I saw such flowers in my area.
Thanks, I planted this one a few years back. No butterflies yet. Surely you have other plants for the butterflies.
butterfly bush in your garden , lucky one , Thank you for sharing
And thank you for commenting.
Would you believe in the beginning of winter we have chrysalises and caterpillars in the Monarch type……? I love the photo of your butterfly bush
Wow that is so cool Pam. I love seeing them monarchs. Soon I hope. Thanks!
Very beautiful flower.
Thank you very much!
Beautiful flower. In your garden only interesting plants grow.
You are so very kind! Thank you.
Beautiful flower , Carol…
Thank you, it is a favorite.
When I was visiting the Old Town of Plovdiv in Bulgaria, I was fortunate to take a picture of a butterfly perched on a man’s shoulder. For about five minutes she took off and returned to him again. It was a magic moment. I’ll post these photos but I do not know for sure when. I made a total of about 450 photos in my home country. The flower is great.
Oh what a special five minutes. That doesn’t happen often. Very special indeed. Cannot wait to see you photos.
I can imagine all 450 photos were probably stunning! I take a lot of photos as well.
Beautiful flower from Dustin, Carol.
Flowers, caterpillars and butterflies are a source of lasting inspiration.
Thank you for those much needed words my dear friend.
You are always welcome, dear friend.
That’s another lovely flower, Carol. You have so many lovely plants and flowers in your garden.
Thank you, I was excited to see it bloom as well. I try to plant the ones that attract butterflies.
