1. What about polls and quizzes? I thought the minimum words there were 100

   • It’s two years since I posted this, Grace, before polls even existed here! Much may have changed in the interim.

     • I read through archives as it is there where I find valuable information. I am still groping even though I have earned a couple of times. I want to do everything right.

       You must have written poll posts. How many words are those?

   • Thank you, Tony! It’s some 4 months since I assembled this info, so the rules may have changed a little, but as far as I know these minimums still apply 🙂

3. Do you know, I had no idea there were any word count minimums! I always write a fair bit, so I guess I never noticed. Thanks for the info 🙂

   • For the talkative ones, like us, minimums count less than maximums 😀 😀

     • Yes, indeed! I occasionally find that a site can’t accept a post because it’s too long!

5. i have 4 Post that Dont get approved! im sad about it cause i waste my time. typing and searching for photos. and the other 1 post i make recently i have link the source of picture but Sadly Its not approved! But some members here Dont bother to Put a source where they get the photo online and thier post is approved!

   • I just Forget some Post i read. is short and Not lenghty but Still Approved!

   • I usually use photos I take myself, and those don’t require a link. Some link sources also many not be legal if there is no permission given to use that photo. You can’t use just any photo you want if you link to it. Some are copyrighted and need written permission. Maybe the administrators checked your link and saw there was no permission given to use the photo.

7. This is a very useful tip, Norman. But several times I wonder, as I recall there are some posts I’ve seen even without words. Am I wrong to see, less thorough reading or other, or maybe I’m just wrong?

13. I find it confusing that stories have a minimum of 100 words but a maximum of 7000 characters!

    • It’s important to be able to distinguish between the definitions of words and characters, but any decent dictionary should set you right 😉

      • My point is that it seems odd to me that a minimum should be set according to one standard – words – but a maximum to a different one – i.e. characters. Is this not inconsistent?

        • I understand (and I was pulling your leg). My reading of the matter is that the minimum word count is a stylistic matter (albeit a very one-dimensional one), while the maximum character-count is a technical limit. I don’t know why the minimum should not be set by character count rather than word count, and it seems easy to imagine that an automatic check could be implemented, just as it has recently been for comments.

18. When did it change? It used to be 50 for story, and 150 for gallery, if I am not mistaken..??

20. Oh my gosh. As a newbie I cannot tell you how much I appreciate this. It is very confusing here and I have some things that are in drafts and this could be why. Are things approved on the weekend or not?
