4. We are just coming out of autumn here and there are coloured leaves everywhere. It’s a beautiful time of year.

5. We have one in the park that has the pink leaves. It is a sugar maple. The one down the hill from me is the bright kind, not sure what kind it is. What a perfect Autumn photograph. Well done!

   Love the picture and the leaves. The colors of fall are interesting, aren’t they. For me, winter starts when the last leaf of fall let’s go and winds to the ground.

8. I’ve never seen a pink maple leaf. I have never seen a blue maple leaf, but the Toronto Maple Leafs logo is a blue maple leaf.

    • I think it’s maple too, but I was wonderfing what kind. We have some decorative ones that have red leaves all year, but these are different.

Was reading up on pink leaves and found this…There are so many varieties of maple and their color range is so varied that you are bound to find pink leaves scattered among the traditional gold and orange. Temperature has a lot to do with the exact color palette that a tree achieves. Some of the variegated maples produce spectacular fall color with pink tinges. Silver Cardinal gets a yellow and pink leaf, Flamingo turns green and white with a tinge of pink and Butterfly turns a rosy pink in fall.

    • This is very interesting! The beginning of the autumn was very warm here, maybe it has something to do with the color.

18. As a French Canadian born and raised I am at a loss to distinguish these leaves. They certainly could be from a maple tree but I am not quite sure. Get Rex Trulove to check it out. I am sure he will know… The fact remains this picture is very beautiful…
