The hummingbirds are all over my back yard feeders. I have two, one on the deck and this one in the yard. They will always be very territorial tiny birds. But I enjoy them just the same. They are such entrainment for me and the cats.
Sometimes they will hover at the screen room and the cats will see them, it is a stare down for a few seconds. Too cool to watch. I managed to catch this one sitting still on the feeder. That is not easy to do. Took me a few minutes in the 90 degree (plus tons of humidity) weather. But so worth it.

Lovely photo, and hummingbirds would be great to watch.
Thanks so much Pam. I love the entertainment.
Colibri are so beautiful and interesting birds … I can only look at them in pictures
Sorry you do not have these, I will share mine.
With great pleasure I’ll see them, dear Pamela
I guess efforts have been rewarded!
Nice photo!!
Thank you, I thought the same.
i haven’t seen a hummingbird other than your pictures this year.
I usually do, but because of the heat, I am watching less.
Really! that is too bad. Have you put up a feeder?
I have hawks in the trees behind my house now. I keep watching for the next.
I rarely see hawks any more due to all the CONSTRUCTION!
well we don’t see any birds because the hawks are in our trees during the days. Everyone else stays the heck away.
Sorry about the construction, i know that frustrates your sunset pictures!
Wonderful capture, thank you for sharing
And thank you for the comment.
I have not seen a hummingbird so far this year. You have to be one of the most patient photographer to have waited in the heat no less to catch and take this stupendous photo. My hat is off to salute you. It is no wonder this tiny birdie had to rest because of such high humidity… thank you for posting this precious photo…
How kind of you. I really love nature and the hummingbirds are worth he wait. Photography actually teaches you patience. I hope you see one soon. You are very welcome.
I would love to see one but unfortunately the number of birds is reducing fast in India. You have done a wonderful job here!
That is so sad to hear. I wish it was not the case in India. Thank you!
They came to sing Carol’ at the Christ miss party
There you go again Bradley. Thank you. 🙂
Fantastic shot. Although birds are small, they can stand up for themselves
Thanks! And yes they can defend themselves no doubt.
They are always seen targeting our Chinese Hats. These tiny flowers are ideal for their long beaks.
I am sure they do enjoy those flowers. Glad you see them as well.
I love the name of those flowers, wish I had some in my garden.
Hummingbirds are so cute I love to see them fly. I have not seen one here in Florida.
I love these birds. Thanks and I cannot believe you have not seen one. They are very popular in the south. Must be the area you live.
Maybe you could deputy a feeder up and see what happens. You never know!
Great photo. How cute is that!
Thanks, I love these birds and it took awhile to get this photo.
Good to see you here!
My mother almost touched them at times. I almost put my feeder on my cover page image due to me starting a CoverPage-Image-Challenge for red week.
They have drank the nectar from my hand before! It was so cool to feel their tiny beaks. Your Mom had special times with them as well.
Do you put a feeder up at your home?
Yes we have several feeders at our home. I love to watch them.
Very interesting feeders and nice colors.
Thanks Carol.
Thanks Robin, I put at least two up every year.
Beautifully captured of hummingbird, thanks for sharing.
Thanks, it is very rare to catch one like this.
Have a wonderful evening.
I love hummingbirds; and you’ve been able to catch one not moving! That’s a terrific picture.
I love them too and it took awhile but i got him! Thank you so much.
You see these in your area right?
