Excited to share these Crepe Myrtle berries and blooms with you. They were planted in December last year. And already, they are starting to bloom. Amazing nature at its best. I have three of these along the side of my yard. And also one mature tree beside my house. All the same crimson color.
They come in different colors like pink, purple and white. But this crimson color really stands out when it is in full bloom. So cool to see how the green leaves appear first. Then these tiny cluster of berries. Then the berries open up as the blooms.
Sometimes the birds will come along and eat the berries before the blooms open. There are different types of crepe myrtle. Mine is the Indica, according to my local nursery.

Yes I saw it a couple of days before but I could not post a comment since I am suffering from pain in my left shoulder and bicep. Thanks for posting such a nice image of Crepe Myrtle berries.
a pity I have no garden hehe
they look beautiful
I am sorry you do not have a garden. You can have small plants. Thank you!
Thanks so much Carol, I have some newly ripened lemons in our backyard.
Thank you Pam. Lemons are good to have in your yard.
That is a fabulous color. Wow, you know I love this!
Thanks Kim, I love these, and planted them in December… tah-dah I have blooms!
We only have pinks purples and white here. This looks gorgeous.
Thanks, I loved the color when I found it.
Beautiful shot, thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much.
I am mailing weeds to people from my garden 🙂
Mine does not look like yours by any stretch of the imagination.
amazing picture!!!!
So you have this in your garden? Thanks Doc.
the only thing I have are a few flowers, and lots of weeds!
Beautiful , similar to berry
Thanks, the berries turn into the blooms.
These make me wanna eat them!! LOL
Nice photo!!
They are not poisonous to us, and the birds can eat them! I will not. 🙂
Maybe next time you’ll see me eating the berries with the birds :p
LOL
That’s beautiful. I don’t think I’ve seen them before. The best thing I have to share now is the “fried egg poppy” . Just blooming. Have a great day
I love those. Wonder if ours are blooming, I know of one hillside with them.
Oh, it’s native where you are. Matilija poppies, or Romneya coulteri – One Ca. native plant site called them “Queen of California Flowers”. – I wonder how these got up here. It’s that “Botany Of Desire” thing I guess. There is also the California Tree Poppy (for you) which I’ve never seen.
Oh awesome, I will have to check out the tree one for sure. Interesting… Did you know that this was almost the state flower? The orange one won because there are more of them.
Thanks Howard. I have seen them my entire life. Different colors. But when I found this crimson color, I got three more.
The painter in me would grab a tube of alizarin crimson. It’s almost a dead match. Gorgeous color!
Alizarin Crimson and perhaps the tiniest ultra marine blue, and even tinier touch of White.
Really beautiful and a beautiful picture. I’ll bet your garden is stunning.
Thanks so much, I am proud of these blooms. I work at the garden and plant things to attract birds and butterflies.
So lovely!
This is one of the plants that I like but don’t have it yet, again.
I am so happy about this one. I had one already. Planted these in December, as I stated above and they are blooming! You need these in crimson.
Have a great day my friend. It is almost 7pm here. A few things to watch on television. And the rain is just stopping. Thunderstorm earlier again.
That’s very fast, Carol.
I once took care of this in pink when I was a teenager, unfortunately, the plant died when I in college.
Glad oyu know of the plant. You should try again.
Beautiful picture. Strawberries are in special color.
Thank you. I love seeing fresh strawberries as well. My Dad used to always grow them in his garden. Good memories.
Beautiful picture, my dear friend
Than you my friend, Lado. I love these blooms.
Hope you have a great evening my friend!
What the wonderful photo, so bright colors. I have just a little garden but there are some trees and bunch of flowers.
Thank you, I am so proud of this one. I am sure your garden is beautiful.
A small garden is easier to keep up with.
I have something to share with the flowers on my terrace. This is a brilliant color.
Thanks, I love the crimson color, it stands out.
The color is what I was looking for in the plant, very pleased.
Beautiful photo. It’s a lovely garden.
Thanks, I am trying to make it nice.
Hope you have a great evening!
The berries look so great. I will be posting somethings from my yard within minutes. Love this post of a beauty.
Thank you, I am so proud to see these blooms! 🙂
This color really brightens up the garden.
