Crimson Crepe ~ Alphabet Crazy

Sharing a bloom from one of my Crepe Myrtle trees with Alibb’s Alphabet Crazy Challenge. We all go at our own pace with the ABC’s in this challenge. I am posting this week using the letter C.

These crepe myrtles were planted in December. Their first year has proved very successful. All three trees are blooming. Always relieved to see plants and trees survive the first year. A good sign.

And they will return each year, growing taller and more blooms for the hummingbirds and butterflies.

  1. Such lovely flowers with vibrant colours!!
    Once again, a good capture!!

August is the month of the Hungry ghost festival … so I’m glad its over! 🙂

  2. I am now at work during the day. My evenings are free to enjoy walks by the sea. And watch the sunset. Another flower of your flower-rich garden. Thanks.

  3. Great flowers! You have a great garden.
I am enjoying the end of August. Picked a lot of plums today. Apples are falling off the trees and the deer are so pleased by plums and apples. I need to freeze a bunch of blackberries soon.
The Wooden Boat Festival is coming, and I’m debating about traveling to the National Heirloom Expo. Hope you are enjoying the last of summer!

    • Thanks Howard, we did this sort of thing growing up. Dear always around, canned fruit, figs, peaches, and berries in the freezer! Good memories. And this is a great time for festivals. The weather will start to cool soon hopefully. I am enjoying lolling forward to no more heat. It has been a triple digit summer. I prefer cool or even cold any day!

  4. Stunning flowers Carol, we have the crepe myrtle here in purple, pink and white only. Wish we could have this lovely crimson too.

    • I love these. I had one growing on the side of the house that gets early morning sun. I can inly see it when out in the side yard. These, I can see form the front and they get the morning and evening sun. I hope they do well. I love the crimson color.
