Crimson Crepe ~ Color Crazy

One of my Crepe Myrtle trees from last year isn the photo. The little balls eventually turn into blooms. Amazing tree.

The tree is cut back at the end of the season and returns each year with more blooms than before. Beautiful crimson blooms. The top of the tree touches my roof. And still growing.

I also have planted three new ones in the front yard. Looking forward to seeing them grow.

  1. Great shot. I remember you planting two more out front, but cannot remember what color they were. I also didnt know that they were cut back for the winter. We had a white one in Memphis right outside our front door. Loved it.

  2. I love crepe myrtles! We had some old ones in front of our building when I worked at LSU. They wanted to cut them down but the Director of our institute spoke up and saved them. They were estimated to be almost 100 years old!
