Yesterday I went out and snapped a photo of one of the last roses in Dustin’s garden. We had our first frost last night, so I knew they would not survive.
Amazing how these roses bloom from spring all the way through November. I have enjoyed seeing each pink bloom and will look forward to their return.

Sometimes, we have roses until December, it’s amazing.
That is amazing. Good to see you commenting.
I am trying to catch up, but it’s not possible sometimes. I still enjoy the posts even if I am not able to comment. 🙂
Awesome photo, so beautiful & exciting like last touch of summer!!!
Thanks so much for your comments and support.
That is lovely, Carol. We can look forward to the roses blooming again next Spring time.
Thanks so much for your comments.
Winter is on it’s way. Thanks for sharing the lovely rose.
You are welcome and agreed about winter!
I love the upcoming holidays (Thanksgiving and Christmas) for many reasons. Not the least of which is the ever-changing weather.
I love watching the weather change (but you know that)!
It is the end of a season, in preparation for the next.
We can all hope for a better day, tomorrow and future.
always hope for a better tomorrow.
Is after the presence of the last rose, which has bloomed until November, and has been embraced by the first snow, will you soon enter a period of white without flowers for several months?
Not a lot of snow here, but no flowers until the spring. We have had ice storms in the past and some snow but not inches or feet, like Rex gets in Montana.
That means the temperature at your place is higher than at Rex and Doc’s?
Yes, it is int he 50s during the day and 20s F at night. About the same as Doc. But Rex is much colder in the mountains.
Now I make sure that I will never go there.
lovely Rose… well… there will be always next year…
Thanks, yes most of my plants and flowers return in the spring.
So lovely to have roses, I have some roses about to bloom soon….
I have this rose bush in Dustin’s garden and it always does really good.
So, it’s only winter that you won’t see your roses growing in the garden. I am wondering how your garden is when it’s winter. I live in tropical country, hence the garden seems to be the same throughout the whole year. :p
The flowers and some plants cannot tolerate the cold of the winter. The winter is the only time we see no flowers. Some will bring flowers indoors, and they will continue to bloom. My Hibiscus is like that. I have evergreen trees, holly bushes, and my magnolia tree, they all stay green year round.
I also have a couple small red by the back door. I am sue the freeze tonight will get them.
Mine are gone now but happy they last through November.
Have a good weekend, thanks for the comment.
The comment disappeared I replied to.
Our winter is round the corner which is normally mild. I am looking forward to it
Same here. The frost was here and it is cold but nice.
In our country, at night, temperatures dropped below 0 degrees Celsius, destroying all the flowers in the open air.
Stay want, sorry about your flowers!
I love roses but right now my garden has no roses, it is almost winter.
It is almost winter here too with our first frost last night.
I have blue skies, snow and only your flower pictures to enjoy.
This rose can be for you to enjoy. I am sharing with you.
There’s a beautiful old folk song called “The Last Rose of Summer”, based on an old Irish poem. Perhaps you should track it down on YouTube!
I will do that, thank you. I am surprised these bloom through the spring, summer and fall.
Beautiful photo, roses don’t last for winter.
Thanks, no they don’t survive the frost. I am happy to have them the rest of the year.
That is very nice pink rose. 🙂
Thank you, they are very special.
Are you sure it is the last rose of this year.
Time will tell but after our frost last night I see none on the bush.
