I had said I wasn’t going to do these posts anymore, honestly, but I’ve been asked so many questions. Lately, I am going to go through a couple of current issues.
1. I am unable to respond to pictures in a gallery post (multiple pictures, unable to comment on the pictures although I can still comment on the post). This is a really interesting problem (unless you are experiencing it). First off, I do know that I have had issues with Chrome connecting to Virily and trying to comment on pictures. I don’t often do that anymore. The interesting part of the problem is this doesn’t seem to impact Safari Users ever, and it doesn’t seem to impact some users ever. My easy advice is to try a different browser.
a. One of the things I recommend is this (if you have a mac, download chrome) if you have a PC download Opera or Firefox. Do not install any add-ins on that browser. When you have a problem with Virily, launch the clean browser, and see if the problem remains.
b. Don’t have lots of browser tabs open. The more tabs you have open, the more impact on your computer!
2. The new Virily rate is much lower. It is one 1000th of a point lower, not a huge impact.
As questions come up, I will post them. Also, if you experience either of these (one concern, one problem) feel free to add your name to the comments and say which problem you have.
It is funny; I started in IT in the days before the internet. I used to be part of the dial-up BBS world (Bulletin Board Service) including AOL and Compuserv. The growth of the WWW, or the world wide web, really exploded in the early 1990s. I was there as it was happening. I posted the first web site for my employer at that time.
In the intervening years, the internet has changed radically. For example, in 1994 if a computer was connected to the internet, you had either a Windows 3.11 machine, a DOS box with an installed IP stack or a Macintosh computer. IPV4, the first internet addressing scheme was going to last for 100 years (it isn’t going to last much more than 40). IPv6 was just an idea at that time. Now, you have many more computers. Where once there was Mosaic and Netscape for browsers, there are many more browsers. Computers have moved into the world of many more operating systems, and the completion is greater now than at any other time.
I have a completely clean Windows 10 Virtual Machine with nothing installed except five different browsers. Why? If I have an issue, I always follow my first recommendation about troubleshooting. I remove the variable that is my computer. Launching a clear browser allows me to see if it is something I’ve loaded in my browsers. Launching a clean OS allows me to see if it is something other than the browsers installed on my computer.

I don’t have any issues with Virily, I use what ever formats that I can use that gives me no problems. The Dashboard, well that can change.
Some seem to think that they can figure out how that Dashboard works but I can’t work with inconsistent recordings that change from day to day
There are two things I know and understand about the dashboard.
It updates at the end of the month.
You can, using the monthly payment, and virils earned, determine the current Viril rate.
Other than that, it is as you said too variable!
I do not currently have any problems with Virily … I’m working on Crome without a problem …. thanks for the excellent information
May I ask if you have loaded any extensions into chrome?
I did not load anything, dear friend … you know that I do not know … purely classic Crome

If you type a colon and a parenthesis it will turn to a smile when the comment is posted. This is all I know about them. 🙂

I do not know why it is not getting pasted here. I opened a word page and it pasted there. What could be the issue?
I don’t know Grace. I chose them in that box of many, many, emoji and the left of the box said “copied” as I chose them. Here I hit command v (or paste) and there they were. I think you may go to the page and scroll down below the big ones. I used the little guys and not the first big ones you see.
issue three can only be resolved from the admin end, which is unlikely. issue two is an economic one, not a tech problem. issue one is both strange and moderately inconvenient, but has a workaround which is both obvious and easy…

I have no idea how to do so. Although they did actually reach out and communicate with me yesterday. First time in a bit. No updates on changes but at least the door was opened.

Thank you for the information about Virily. The only problem I’m having is with polls. Having to refresh the screen to get the picture to show up and then copying the text back into the box.
I’ve had the same problem and ended up changing my route.
Create Putton
select poll
browse and select a picture
refresh
then add tags and content
then add questions
publish
that was not my old routine!

It’s really hard to find the right information Virily. Everybody presents a little differently. I usually take a middle path.
There is a lot of disinformation or things presented as facts that aren’t. I think your position is very reasonable!!!

What is the Virily rate?
The old rate was 1 viril = 0.0011376512019599 US cents
The new viril rate is 1 viril = 0.0010376512 US cents
Yes I have had these issues Doc. I use Safari only as you know. And yes the answers offered by anyone except Virily… which we never get… is speculation. But I appreciate your technical explanations here.
I have noticed an interesting trend with this problem. It doesn’t happen to everyone. It isn’t widespread and it appears to only impact certain users at certain times.
I have not had the issue once since moving off of Chrome. I have had the issue on my Mac (Safari) and my PC (chrome) I do not have it on Edge.
There are other variations as well that seem to be problematic.
A lot of people guess and should say it’s my guess (lol). As you know I am very picky about where my information comes from. I trust your information because you take the time and have the skills.
Guessing is fine as well, I just wish they would label it that way.
labeling things as a guess takes away power sadly.

I haven’t had those come up but my browser is pretty clean. I don’t do apps really…. The engineer’s favorite phrase? — “operator error” – I’ve given them reason before! (ha, ha, ha) – There is some form of recursion involved discussing a thing on the thing itself but is it true recursion. (joking) – If people didn’t have questions addressed here then it would be never. Thanks for this.
Operator error is always the best starting point when troubleshooting computer problems!

usually, that is a safe percentage. of course the outage of (its not me its blah) is something you have to wade through.
