Unchanged ~ Silhouette Saturday

An hour before midnight, a few hours ago, the family of my siblings and wife had returned to their respective homes. They came to celebrate my wife’s birthday because most of them could not come together that day.

We are gathered, from various age groups, from teens to 80s like my mother. We had dinner, joking, and chatting together. One of the interesting things that I can conclude from the conversation is that, in whatever age we live, whatever we wear, whatever vehicles we use – past or present, and to what extent technological differences in the past with the present, in words other, no matter how far the changes have brought us to this point, no matter how old we are, the essence or taste of happiness has never changed, whatever the cause, such as the sweetness of sugar throughout the ages. Likewise with longing, falling in love, or sore from wounds. So, what are we looking for?

  1. Not sure if I told you. But, having get-together with my own family, it erased everything that ever happened and the only things that remain are love, joy and gratitude that life blessed me with these people in my life. The past became irrelevant.

    • First, I feel grateful that you have all that with all the happiness that follows, which of course is supported by love.

As a feeling and mental state, happiness does not change, “the taste” of happiness is always the same, maybe in different strengths or intensities, with different triggers. Of course, if happiness is associated with external stimulants.

      • Yes. But there is a downside to it. Now I cannot write as fast as before ? and it changed the writing style too.

Happiness, whether a path or a choice, still means a person will have to take a step to get into that ?

        • Huh… In this flesh and blood, both sides have never failed to play their role, is it?

Once a person decides about happiness, the consequences of a decision will follow him, so also if that person doesn’t decide or then doubts it, then he/she will continue to oscillate in obscurity, as well as with all the consequences.

          • A lot of people, brother, think that the source of happiness is outside. And even if one tries to explain to them, they cannot understand it until they are ready to understand it.

  5. i would send you happiness as energy my friend.

There is so much that can be shared, so much good in the world! Love is the most giving of the emotions for and of happiness.

But we can also rise above pain to find happiness.

  6. I agree with Alex. Happiness is a state of well-being, a choice, the ability of each to have more positive than negative emotions. This happens at any age. Does it make sense what I say?

  7. We all seek happiness because we can’t live unhappy life throughout our lives. But where we seek it matters a lot. It never changes, never lingers for long but wonderful when one experiences it.

    • I fully agree with you dear friend. Whatever result of we seek outside always leads to the beach of happiness inside, so how to find it inside as often as possible without needing to be triggered by something outside? Ah, let the one inside answer it…

  8. I have read a lot about the state of happiness. And when you do that, you get many opinions. One that stood out to me said that happiness is a global pursuit. Researchers find that people from every corner of the world rate happiness more important than other desirable personal outcomes, such as obtaining wealth, acquiring material goods, and getting into heaven.

As for how to find happiness, I think we all have to do that in our own way. I am always searching for ways to be more happy. I will get there eventually.
