Several people are picking up the old post-challenge, although I didn’t make it a challenge. Some are sharing authors, short pieces about the author, and some of their older posts. Other people are going back and reading old posts and sharing them. Overall it has been interesting as views are slowly starting to go back up. We are about 20% below where we were last year in terms of views. Posts like this, by the way, do not help, so my apologies for that.
I took 10 of my old posts (so this isn’t scientific). I didn’t want to sue someone else’s old posts to do this experiment.
I shared the photos on the various social media sites I use. Here is what I found.
(please remember these are my posts only)
- Facebook – 10 additional views sharing if I share another author on Facebook it is 20 views.
- Twitter – 20 additional views (new posts I get 30, other authors posts normally around 10)
- Mix – 2 additional views
- Reddit – 2 additional views
- Tumblr – 2 additional views
- Pinterest – 2 additional views
- WordPress – 12 additional views.
I understand if you don’t want to share it on social media. But, if you don’t, please consider joining Carol DM’s challenge. You highly another author and include three links to one of those authors’ old posts! Or participate in my old post-challenge, which is, tell people if they add a post (as long as it isn’t something you won’t read) that you will read and comment on their post! Neither of those challenges requires you to share via social media.
I have shared more than 70 of my old posts since January 1. I can tell you that I have nearly 1200 new views from external users in sharing my old posts. It is roughly 15 to 20 views per share, but that is something!

All I can say is that I am used to sharing my own posts and I do share posts published by others.
I am always surprised when I come across one of my own posts that someone else shared.

I am glad that the views are up but the loading issue isn’t going to help the site at all. On Sunday I tried to view posts and comment but it was next to impossible to do much considering the little time I had.
sadly while views are up, they are only up from the low of December January. They are still lower this year than they were the same time last year.
There are too many people frustrated and leaving.
Too many people have left and stayed away.
Too many people with the Me First, attitude (I got paid, I don’t share posts of others).
something that scares me right now – if you look at the most commented list, in 2019 until November every single one of the post son that list, were also trending. Now, we have posts on most commented that are not being viewed by members.
It is scary, Virily has to do something and so do we. I try to view as many posts as possible but that is just not enough I guess. It is really hard to go to each profile and view their posts just as I did with yours. This takes a lot of time than viewing the latest or polls.
i am time-limited and refuse to spend more time right now. that limits the number of posts I can read,
so I chested and saved the profiles of my favorite authors and just go directly to their pages when there aren’t posts from them in the new 12-hour list.

As a normal course of action, I have always been sharing both my own and whoever’s post I am commenting on. When I heard my several Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest, and Instagram viewers do not benefit me directly/or at all, I just kept right on keeping on. You will see this one shared the same way. Virily put them on all pages, they are clickable, so I use them.
that is awesome Andre. I struggle, i always share everyone’s posts on Twitter. if I really like the psot I add Facebook.
I find when i add facebook it adds many more views for other users.
for me, my posts gain the most on twitter!
I share my own posts and the posts of others on social media mostly Twitter FB and Pinterest

I want to ask you, when you like other shared media, do you get viruses. I have a lot of likes, but it’s not very clear to me. I share mine and other people posts, but not old.
sharing on social media won’t give your computer a virus. That comes from connecting to a site that has virus software on it.
I really like Carol’s idea, but when I did something similar in the past, there were a few people who felt offended, so I don’t feel as motivated anymore. Maybe my approach wasn’t right.
i would hope that no one would be offended. I am very sorry that happened.

I occasionally share any post. I’m not much on social sites.

i do fully understand, the reality of where we are now, figuring out new ways to solve the issue.
Sharing on social media is easy and does indeed help with more views- as long as the post is interesting for others to want to read it!
i have lots of followers who read lots of strange things, twitter works best for me.

I started my latest as a challenge, but anyone can join in whatever way they can think of to help views.
i love yours it shows a creative solution to the problem. That I think is what we need, rigtht? creative solutions to the problem. The old models aren’t working!

as you can see from my chart I don’t get much interaction from pinterest.
I will not share either my posts or other posts, dear friend …. they do not allow me to view and comment on current posts …. I am in a bad mood … you are limited at every step and why should you bother then
i do understand the frustration, I am sorry you are frustrated. The comment issue is fixed by refreshing the page before commenting!

i gave up worrying about virils 3 years ago. I get what I get.
It’s also best not to worry about it
it really is, otherwise, you end up posting about Virily all the time.
