One of the advantages of reading 30 posts a day for eight days was that I got to read a lot of great posts! The other side was it made gathering information for the movers project a lot easier. This is the 8th or 9th publication of the mover’s project, and I am going to continue the categories I’ve had in the past so that people can see who moves their posts!
This time, however, I wanted to explain each of the categories a little more and then detail who is int hem!
- Fastest to 100 views – basically from the time a post is visible to the time it has 100 views. But the thing here is it is not one, but multiple posts. Lots of authors reach 100 views on a post. Few reach 100 views on one or more posts a day.
- Comment leaders – when these authors comment it is more likely that other authors will also comment
- Movers – when these folks read your post you will get more views
- Deep comment threads – these folks consistently have ten or more comment threads that are deeper than six comments form each (author and reader).
The data was collected over the two weeks, as is the process I have established. The posts are checked five times a day (it is pretty fast and easy to do, save all the posts as links and then open them to see deltas)
Fastest to 100 views

There is also a group of authors that also accomplish this, but not at the rate the ones listed. The current rankings are also on the list. All numbers are, of course, gathered as best as possible. I thank everyone for the opportunity to once again see what is moving Virily!!!!
There are a number of authors not participating at the same level on Virily. That does impact these numbers as they contribute heavily to Virily (LaJenna, Alibb and others)!

I do not know how you had time to track all of that, but what a great and interesting post.
Same thought I have ?. Alex is Ledante, though, Doc ?
there are a couple of others Alex’s on the site so I had to do that! There is only one CarolDM.
it is actually not that hard. I just do a starting point link, and then a second start point. I have an application that can open 20, or 30 links at once. So it is a quick process.
Sorry….but.. you have forgotten one category….. BEST VIRILY WRITER EVER: And the award goes to HALCOMBE NORILSK
Not sure that is an official category I can track pal.
At least I have tried. And it is true it would be difficult to track
you did have to try pal! I agree with that!
With my posts, it is always a surprise. At times I post something that I think will get a big reaction but it doesn’t and then I post something just because it’s interesting but that post gets the most reaction, I can never figure it out so I just do what comes naturally write. When I read an article I always upvote and leave a comment on it. I was thinking about this for a while and I wonder what you might think. On some posts, I wind up getting an idea or I have a story to share and I wind up with a long comment. Would it benefit both me and the author of the post if I wrote up a short comment and kept the story for a post in which I linked the post from which the idea came? Just wondering,
you’ve asked a very interesting question. I don’t have a good answer. I know that I do sometimes do just what you’ve described. Sometimes I mention the other author (you remembered me with your post on the color black about bats in the house and I shared that)
but I don’t always share a link to the inspiring post. i do sometimes.
that sounds like an interesting idea.
No surprises here. Congrats to the tribe of wonderful movers. I am now moving on.
Next comment 🙂 You were near the top of commenters (4th) and movers (5th) so your contribution is also huge! Thank you for everything you do!
Hey, I know those people! Great authors that I consider my friends. Just reading the names made me smile. Thanks for this info. It is very interesting to see.
🙂 always happy to share how our community is doing and the people that help! I should track who has the most open challenges, I think you would win hands down!
Q: Do you notice when some people comment on your posts?
Yes (10 votes) – 100%
Q: Do you sometimes wonder based on comments if the person read the post?
Yes (8 votes) – 89%
No (1 votes) – 11%
Q: @Ghostwriter said she was focusing more on comments, she has been commenting like crazy, will you join her comment campaign?
Yes (4 votes) – 50%
No (4 votes) – 50%
i wanted to leave everyone with CarolDM’s great advice.
Do what you can do on Virily.
We can’t measure a lot of things that would be of value for the community on Virily. But what we can measure shows we are still moving along.
Thanks again Doc. Just sharing what works for me.
All we can do is all we can do.
I think that should be the matra for Virily!!!!
Thanks for the mention, Doc.
I am happy to be able to take advantage of the time I have here, although sometimes only a little, to read, enjoy or pay attention to pictures, and of course to appreciate, while occasionally joking in comments or in-depth discussions like with you.
I know that many people who don’t read posts which can be seen from their comments, or those who just click on the post then upvote and leave, or even just click and close, but that’s their full right, maybe that’s the best that they can do here.
that is the critical thing, people do what they can do and that is fine!
We just call out folks that show the easily measurable attributes of a good community member.
Upvoting, reading etc, are huge as well, I just have no way on the platform to track them!
I would also love show or detail negative impact but that doesn’t do anyone any good.
However, it will still be difficult if there is a rule that is imposed related to it after all the admin has also violated his own rules…
I think, showing negative things in a community like this is indeed not good for anyone.
i do wonder what they were thinking. All the people that have spent 2 years waiting to be verified seeing that have expressed concern (I have 10 so far).
We can understand that people will certainly compare their efforts with others to get the same thing, and it can certainly be disappointing.
it becomes stressful – this goes to our conversation nearly a year ago now, where you wondered what time of day was the optimal posting time. Things on this site operate strangely at times.
Well, let’s say Virily is a part of life with a lot of unexpected things.?
my thinking is quite simple. I am going to support those who deserve it.
That’s the best thing to do.
🙂 it took me a long time to reach that point. I found many battles I now regret. No one won the battle and no value was gained.
Helping people who wrestling bout in the water will make us drown, too.
the saddest reality is when both drown because neither can hear.
Indeed it’s not necessary to boast while helping people but it makes us have to be vigilant and fully prepared with all the risks. I say this because it is an experience that has happened to me during my truant here. But even so, it was a very valuable lesson.
i have twice helped people that turned around and attacked me. One attacked me, and many other users here on the site.
one seems to be stable now, and not bothering others so I wait.
Very interesting post. I certainly respond to every first comment. Sometimes I also answer many times. I would like to comment more but I’m running out of time. Sometimes I spend so much time here. Unfortunately, I have to do something else too. ?
i completely understand. Everyone does what they can do! No need to feel guilty. It is simply an acclimation post for some there are many things I can’t track or show.
I have a narrow circle of friends whose posts I regularly read and comment on …. but if my post is read and commented on by someone I will return ….. some I read and do not comment on .. even though I limited my time a little bit on Virily … if i wanted to read everything and comment it could be day and night on virily …. i’m here for socializing and not for making money … i post every other day … now the exception is Sunday
you have more deep comment threads than anybody but albert. The two of you also have multiple deep comment threads on each others posts.
You are a mover my friend!
He really gets along very well with Albert and says a lot, dear friend … he’s a kind and honest person just like you and I like to talk to people like that
That is a very nice thing to say.
I wish I could track the impact of positive comments!
Hmmm… Our dear friend here shows your potential, dear Lado.
She praised us both nicely, dear Albert
Yes, he is, dear friend, and I’m proud of you!
thank you both for proving my point! 🙂
I praised you both for doing, exactly what you are doing on this post!!!
The two of you demonstrating the exact thing I noted made me laugh!
Oh, why Doc? Does our little chat here look funny?
no just that it shows the two of you are great commenters!
That sounds like a compliment that should be considered a crown!
i was shocked by how many deep comment threads the two of you have. It is amazing.
With my health after eye surgery I can’t spend much time here.
It also takes me time to do a quiz or an article because of my “knowledge” of English.
Still, I try to reach out to the community as much as I can.
I hope you understand me.
you bring much to our community Robin. I love your fishing spots!@!!!!
Thanks Doc. Maybe this year, if it’s warm weather, I’ll go fishing one more time.
Fishing on pike.
i look forward to your fishing posts and your posts on playing chess with your grandson!
You did a quite another investigative piece. It’s an interesting observation.
yes I spent a lot of time reading a lot of posts!
Carol DM
DocAndersen
and Sir Albert
yes two of the three (CarolDM and Albert) are my heros@!
You are also a big player, my friend, and will be even greater soon.
I didn’t track kind comments this time. It is harder to do. But great compliment Albert. And I agree!
Like Carol, I cannot commit to any specific aims as far as Virily is concerned. I visit the site most days, read what interests me, comment if it sounds like a good idea, maybe contribute a post or two, then get on with other things! What happens on one day may be completely different to what happens on the next!
it is completely ok – the ups and downs of the site are extremely interesting. What people can do is what they can do.
Thanks for the numbers and mention. I do what I can as time allows. I wish I had more time for deeper conversations. Just so many hours in the day it seems. I know many do not read my posts, you can tell by the comment. But to each his own I suppose.
I find that is very true, that many do, and many don’t but if I can I am borrowing from an author here on Virily (her name is CarolDM you may know her).
she says
do what you can do!
