Return of the Virily Movers Project –

One of the advantages of reading 30 posts a day for eight days was that I got to read a lot of great posts! The other side was it made gathering information for the movers project a lot easier. This is the 8th or 9th publication of the mover’s project, and I am going to continue the categories I’ve had in the past so that people can see who moves their posts!

This time, however, I wanted to explain each of the categories a little more and then detail who is int hem!

  • Fastest to 100 views – basically from the time a post is visible to the time it has 100 views. But the thing here is it is not one, but multiple posts. Lots of authors reach 100 views on a post. Few reach 100 views on one or more posts a day.
  • Comment leaders – when these authors comment it is more likely that other authors will also comment
  • Movers – when these folks read your post you will get more views
  • Deep comment threads – these folks consistently have ten or more comment threads that are deeper than six comments form each (author and reader).

The data was collected over the two weeks, as is the process I have established. The posts are checked five times a day (it is pretty fast and easy to do, save all the posts as links and then open them to see deltas)

There is also a group of authors that also accomplish this, but not at the rate the ones listed. The current rankings are also on the list. All numbers are, of course, gathered as best as possible. I thank everyone for the opportunity to once again see what is moving Virily!!!!

There are a number of authors not participating at the same level on Virily. That does impact these numbers as they contribute heavily to Virily (LaJenna, Alibb and others)!

  1. With my posts, it is always a surprise. At times I post something that I think will get a big reaction but it doesn’t and then I post something just because it’s interesting but that post gets the most reaction, I can never figure it out so I just do what comes naturally write. When I read an article I always upvote and leave a comment on it. I was thinking about this for a while and I wonder what you might think. On some posts, I wind up getting an idea or I have a story to share and I wind up with a long comment. Would it benefit both me and the author of the post if I wrote up a short comment and kept the story for a post in which I linked the post from which the idea came? Just wondering,

    • you’ve asked a very interesting question. I don’t have a good answer. I know that I do sometimes do just what you’ve described. Sometimes I mention the other author (you remembered me with your post on the color black about bats in the house and I shared that)
but I don’t always share a link to the inspiring post. i do sometimes.

that sounds like an interesting idea.

    • 🙂 always happy to share how our community is doing and the people that help! I should track who has the most open challenges, I think you would win hands down!

  3. Thanks for the mention, Doc.
I am happy to be able to take advantage of the time I have here, although sometimes only a little, to read, enjoy or pay attention to pictures, and of course to appreciate, while occasionally joking in comments or in-depth discussions like with you.
I know that many people who don’t read posts which can be seen from their comments, or those who just click on the post then upvote and leave, or even just click and close, but that’s their full right, maybe that’s the best that they can do here.

  4. Very interesting post. I certainly respond to every first comment. Sometimes I also answer many times. I would like to comment more but I’m running out of time. Sometimes I spend so much time here. Unfortunately, I have to do something else too. ?

    • i completely understand. Everyone does what they can do! No need to feel guilty. It is simply an acclimation post for some there are many things I can’t track or show.

  5. I have a narrow circle of friends whose posts I regularly read and comment on …. but if my post is read and commented on by someone I will return ….. some I read and do not comment on .. even though I limited my time a little bit on Virily … if i wanted to read everything and comment it could be day and night on virily …. i’m here for socializing and not for making money … i post every other day … now the exception is Sunday

  6. With my health after eye surgery I can’t spend much time here.
It also takes me time to do a quiz or an article because of my “knowledge” of English.
Still, I try to reach out to the community as much as I can.
    I hope you understand me.

  7. Like Carol, I cannot commit to any specific aims as far as Virily is concerned. I visit the site most days, read what interests me, comment if it sounds like a good idea, maybe contribute a post or two, then get on with other things! What happens on one day may be completely different to what happens on the next!

  8. Thanks for the numbers and mention. I do what I can as time allows. I wish I had more time for deeper conversations. Just so many hours in the day it seems. I know many do not read my posts, you can tell by the comment. But to each his own I suppose.

    • I find that is very true, that many do, and many don’t but if I can I am borrowing from an author here on Virily (her name is CarolDM you may know her).

      she says

      do what you can do!
