  1. I am an only child….and I was pretty lonely growing up. If you have a big family (cousins etc) and a lot of friends it isn’t as bad…but I didn’t have that. Great poll, very good topic!

  2. What a great poll and a difficult conversation starter. I know many only children and argue that without siblings it is harder to gain the social skills. But I know many children with siblings that couldn’t gain social skills if they even wanted to. Great post!

  3. There are many reasons a family may have only one child. Stereotyping only children is as bad as any other kind of stereotyping, creating effects that are not helpful. Each person is unique, though there are similarities among all no matter how many siblings they have. Parents need true wisdom for each child, no matter how many they have.

  4. Children need to feel loved and pampered sometimes but not to the point that it turns them into selfish children. Then they will grow up to be selfish adults.
