I have 4 siblings but I believe that in every circumstance there are good and bad that come along with it. Life provides what we need.
You are right once again. Having four siblings sounds fun though! Do you all get on well?
Yes! I am closer to my siblings than I am to my folks. My parents are not the type who are sweet and expressive toward their children altho they were attentive to us when we were kids.
I am an only child….and I was pretty lonely growing up. If you have a big family (cousins etc) and a lot of friends it isn’t as bad…but I didn’t have that. Great poll, very good topic!
Thank you so much for sharing your experience! My situation was similar, but the positive thing is that I’m close with my parents.
That’s good to hear that you were! I’m close with my mother…I still see her everyday! Thank you for sharing too 🙂
I’m not an only child, but I think it works fine both ways. Interesting quiz, thank you.
Thank you so much for sharing your opinion, I’m glad the poll was interesting for you!
Interesting poll, but humans can’t be generalized that way. Or any other way. I am the oldest of three and my daughter is the only child, yet we share many similarities. 🙂
Thank you so much for sharing your opinion and experience!
I liked the test a lot.
I’m glad to hear that! Thanks for participating!
Every child and person are different and cannot be put into a category.
I agree with you, Carol! Thanks for sharing your opinion!
All children like all humans are unique and different. However, the poll is very interesting and invites discussion to share views and thoughts.
Thank you so much for joining the discussion, I’m glad you find the topic interesting. 🙂
You are welcome, Ellie
What a great poll and a difficult conversation starter. I know many only children and argue that without siblings it is harder to gain the social skills. But I know many children with siblings that couldn’t gain social skills if they even wanted to. Great post!
Thank you so much for joining the discussion! Indeed people are different and there are various factors that shape our personalities.
Very interesting questions about human nature, thank you very much for this publication!
I’m glad to hear that you find it interesting!
Everyone is different and unique.
Thank you for sharing your opinion, Pamela!
It was a nice poll about children when they are the only one in a family.
I’m glad to hear that you find it interesting!
The reason I enjoyed the story is that when there is a family where there are more than one child, the youngest child gets the most attention from the parents.
This is interesting. Do you know that some psychologist consider children to have only child trates if they have more than 6 years difference with their siblings? It’s an interesting perspective too.
I am nine years younger than my next oldest sister in my family.
There are many reasons a family may have only one child. Stereotyping only children is as bad as any other kind of stereotyping, creating effects that are not helpful. Each person is unique, though there are similarities among all no matter how many siblings they have. Parents need true wisdom for each child, no matter how many they have.
You summed it up very well, I agree with you completely! Thank you so much for sharing your opinion!
Children need to feel loved and pampered sometimes but not to the point that it turns them into selfish children. Then they will grow up to be selfish adults.
Thank you for sharing your opinion! I agree with you, everything should be done in moderation.
