After adding this second butterfly bush plant to Dustin’s garden, I have many more butterflies this year. These purple blooms are on the black butterfly bush. It is doing well and getting lots of visitors.
One of the frequent visitors is this yellow swallowtail. I also see the blue and black ones as well. I thought the yellow butterfly was really pretty with the purple blooms. These winged critters make my day, every day through the summer.
This photo is shared with Saturday Critters and Kim’s Color Crazy challenge as well. Two for one.
The little things in Dustin’s garden keep me going every single day. No matter what comes or goes, I can count on nature providing something different every day to learn and enjoy.

That’s a great shot. The flower is in my favorite color
Thanks, I got lucky with this one. He was going from bloom to bloom. It is called black butterfly bush but it is actually a dark burgundy, almost purple in this photo. Depends on how the light and sun hits it.
That is one stunning beauty and an awesome picture too.
Thanks Dawn, I love this butterfly bush.
What gorgeous colors in this shot. Love the butterfly and your bloom. Mine got powdery mildew and I almost lost it. It is now coming back and happy. Whew, close call. I did not enjoy my Saturday, my car wouldn’t start. Thank goodness for AAA. I needed a new battery. Not a big deal, just came at the wrong time of the month. lol.
Thanks Kim. I sat on the bench for over an hour with this one. And many more skippers around too, and hummer moths. Glad you got your bush better. And good thing the battery is all you had to replace. Hope the rest of the day, week and month are better for you.
My son got a flat the next day. So that’s three, I should be good for the month right? lol
Yes, you are good for the year!
Well heck, I’ll take a year over a month! 🙂
what an amazing capture.
Love this butterfly. I have not seen a Swallowtail this year.
Thank you Doc, I see them every day, sometime three and four at one time. So cool.
we see them in one part at the back end of the walk. Every day, in the field by the trees in the greenway behind our house.
I have learned to take one day at a time. Life is too short to worry too much. It is what it is!!! Love the photo!
Good for you. It is all we can do in life. Thank you!
I enjoy every day of the week … the butterfly picture is great, my dear friend
That is wonderful. And thank you Lado. Have a great day!
Great , very beautiful and lovely color
Thank you for coming by and commenting.
no life lessons today, sorry…
Oh well, maybe next time
mostly focused on hardware lately
I have just a couple or two hovering around here. I have not seen butterfly bushes here.
That is too bad but you should have blooms that attract the butterflies around you, right?
I have a few flowers that attract butterflies specially Ixora but they are in a way seasonal.
Have not heard that one. I still feel bad you don’t have many butterflies. They are definitely on the decline.
I wonder how you are able to shoot different butterflies every day.
I have two butterfly bushes and they are all over the bushes. I just came in with over 100 photos taken again today!
While they are not all different, they all visit every single day during the summer.
Wow! A hundred photos. of butterflies in a day? That’s awesome.
Actually it was 126 in just about an hour. I take several and then keep the ones I like.
Wow! This is so lovely!!
I love its colour and the pattern on its wing!!
Thanks, this is one of the larger butterflies, very big wingspan.
A lovely photograph as always. I’m glad Dustin’s Garden provides you with such beauty and comfort.
Thank you so much Lin. Appreciate you. The garden is so peaceful
