Anguish ~ Day 156

Sadly my friend who has been battling cancer for eight months passed today. I will miss her smile, her laughs, our long talks, and her beautiful flowers. She had a passion for life. And will be forever in my heart. I took her these flowers (the bouquet was large with many different blooms) a few weeks ago and her face lit up when she saw them. I am so glad I gave her flowers when I did and was able to see her reaction. It means much more than sending them to a funeral that she will never see. Something for us all to think about. A quote from an unknown source… Send me flowers while I am alive so I can enjoy their beauty and fragrance.

  1. I’m so glad you took the flowers in time for her to enjoy them. I wanted to see a close friend who was dying of cancer as her time to go approached, but the distance was just too great. When she died I hadn’t seen her for almost a year, though we had talked and emailed. A couple of months before she died I send her flowers and told her I wanted her to be able to enjoy them. Her local friends told me she had really liked the flowers and getting them when she did.

  2. The more that die around me lately it seems to make me even more thankful for what I have and try to not waste a minute of the time I have left. Your smile is a great one so share it daily. it will reward you and everyone involved.

  3. I am so sorry for your loss, but remember what good things come out of your lives together. You taught each other how to smile more it seems right? You gave a lot to your friendship and that is worth it all. She probably was smiling as she read the part about how you made her smile when you gave her flowers. Hugs and prayers for you!

    • Thank you Elena, but the two go hand in hand. It was a beautiful moment and memory for me when I gave her these flowers. It helps me push through the pain.
