Sadly my friend who has been battling cancer for eight months passed today. I will miss her smile, her laughs, our long talks, and her beautiful flowers. She had a passion for life. And will be forever in my heart. I took her these flowers (the bouquet was large with many different blooms) a few weeks ago and her face lit up when she saw them. I am so glad I gave her flowers when I did and was able to see her reaction. It means much more than sending them to a funeral that she will never see. Something for us all to think about. A quote from an unknown source… Send me flowers while I am alive so I can enjoy their beauty and fragrance.

Some people come into our lives and leave footprints on our hearts and we are never ever the same. ~Flavia Weedn
Sorry for the loss of your close friend. The slogan used is wonderful.
You are so kind my friend, thank you very much.
I know what it feels to lose a loved one. Glad to help you.
So sorry you understand the feeling.
The pain will be there but the good news in the afterlife we all reunite with our loved ones.
I’m not sure what to say….except I am sorry for your loss. It’s always hard to lose someone that you are close to.
Thank you Courtney. The memorial service is today.
I’m sorry for your loss! It’s hard when we lose our close friends. I know that. My friend left last year!
Thank you so much. Life is difficult at times. Sorry for yours as well.
I’m so glad you took the flowers in time for her to enjoy them. I wanted to see a close friend who was dying of cancer as her time to go approached, but the distance was just too great. When she died I hadn’t seen her for almost a year, though we had talked and emailed. A couple of months before she died I send her flowers and told her I wanted her to be able to enjoy them. Her local friends told me she had really liked the flowers and getting them when she did.
That is great that she saw them Barbara. Living right next door was an advantage for me. Life is something else isn’t it! We never know about the next moment.
That’s for sure. We can’t take anything for granted.
Hope your day is great Barbara!
The more that die around me lately it seems to make me even more thankful for what I have and try to not waste a minute of the time I have left. Your smile is a great one so share it daily. it will reward you and everyone involved.
I do the same thing but what happens with me is the stages go grief are the same and like my neighbor, she had cancer and was on hospice. My Dad was on hospice. A lot of similarities but I am working though it.
Hospice is great in one way. It helped me have time to say goodbye to my dad. It was sad butt now I have peace. He was the best!!!!!! I know it is hard to lose a friend so talk to me anytime dear one. Pray often it helps
Thank you very much LaJenna.
Hospice was great for both my mom and my mother-in-law. I hope it’s still around when it’s my turn to go. Both my parents, an aunt and a great aunt died of cancer, so I probably will, too, though I’m trying to take care of myself.
Yes, hospice is a God send. Sorry for your losses Barbara.
I am so sorry for your loss, Carol!
Thank you ellie, it seems to never stop.
I am so sorry for your loss, but remember what good things come out of your lives together. You taught each other how to smile more it seems right? You gave a lot to your friendship and that is worth it all. She probably was smiling as she read the part about how you made her smile when you gave her flowers. Hugs and prayers for you!
Yes you are right LaJenna, it is just so hard. Each loss brings us all the memories form my other losses. But I am dealing. Thank you.
Look for a poem I wrote for you that may help. I hope you like it!
The best thing you can gift to loved one or friends here after is to pray for him/her, Pray is the only Key which make happy the departed soul. May almighty God grant rest in peace to your friends. Amen
