Today is the Friday Black and White Challenge. I looked through many photos before deciding on this one. After reading Kim’s thank you post I had to share a memory of my son, Dustin. What happy memories in this photo. We visited Disney World.
So thankful for memories and the photos. Take lots of photos as they will one day become forever memories.
Life is short. Enjoy the moments. Remember to never judge what you do not understand. And always, always be kind to one another. It costs nothing and could mean the world to others.
A mother’s happiness is like a beacon, lighting up the future but reflected also on the past in the guise of fond memories. ~Honore de Balzac

My son’s second Christmas, I have some beautiful photos with me, my wife and him ?.
How lucky we are to have photos. They act as a powerful key for memories, which might be harder to access otherwise. What a great photo of your super boy 😀
Doc says in his comment that he wants to have a magic wand that removes pain. But it exists only in children’s tales. Memories remain stored in the heart and in pictures.
Yes I told him that does not exist. Would be nice right! Yes they are forever in our heart.
I remember this photo. That cute expression., bit ears n all, he was really getting into character. Love it.
We did not get to take the kids to Disney Land, but I guess one of the happiest memories was when the boys were 6 and 10, we were camping at the lake and there was this 10 foot bluff, Jace was finally old enough to dive off, he was so proud. Until his brother showed him up and drove his bicycle off of it. I have pictures of both.
Yep, we were at Disney. He was only two years old Kim. And so happy. This was a very special trip. My Dad, Grandmother, Dustin and his Mom. 🙂 Many memories were made. Thank goodness for the photos, right!
True, thank goodness for photos. My dad used to say always make sure you put a person in the photo, no one in the years to come will care where you were, you’ll want memories of people, family.
My what big ears you have!
The happiest moments are those we carry with us forever!
Share a memory. When I was sixteen I spent the summer with my grandparents. I had just gotten my drivers licenses (and drove my grandfather everywhere! by his choice, he liked having as he called me a remote control that drives).
But Grandpa also told me that I could take the boat out on my own that summer.
Great memories with your grandfather Doc. To be 16 again.
I would like a rewind for Dustin. But I carry on with the good times in my heart. And many in my pocket. I take one out and smile as it takes me back to the happy times.
I wish there was a magic wand that let us remove all pain. But, the problem is the pain sometimes helps us remember the beauty more!
You have no idea how many times i Have said those words Doc. And there is no wand. Doesn’t exist. You just have to find a way through. And don’t try going around, you gotta go through the pain.
That is the human condition. You are brave and kindhearted to share your pain with others.
So to return that – a question meant for a response.
How are you today?
We do not judge at all because, one day, we might be judged as well ?. I love this photo. Dustin is a cute kid ?
Thank you for the visit and words. Dustin is/was a handsome dude. 🙂
I am sure of that with you as his mom ?
Always aa pleasure to see you visit, thank you for being you.
This is right, never to judge others, often there is more to the surface than what meets the eye. Lovely photo of Dustin.
Thank you Pam, I never judge others. Many should do the same.
We should never judge any one with out clear understanding and before making point we should clear our self.
I agree with you and many should follow suit.
Thank god for pictures that make our memories even more real. I was looking at my mom pictures earlier today and thanking God for her.
They are forever memories and I am thankful for the photos.
… You are blessed to have your Mom as you know.
Happiness and joyful moments are good to share.
Hey… I love Dustin’s smile…
Yes indeed. He had a beautiful smile. I always told him he would break hearts.. He would say, Oh Momma… Good memories.
… Thank you my dear friend for saying his name.
You are always welcome, Carol.
Beautiful picture. I also have many pictures and nice memories of his childhood years. We often look at the pictures together.
Thank you, it is one of my favorites. It helps to go back in time on some days.
How cute a boy … although the picture is black and white in your heart is still colored
Yes I have tons and tons of color photos as well Lado, thank you!
I believe you are brave to share something so close to your heart here. I am grateful you have memories and hope they will remain a comfort.
I see no problem with sharing his photo. I am proud to have been his Mom.
Thank you.
Great picture of Dustin! He looks a very happy boy! I’m sure he’s still happy, no matter where he is now!
Thank you. I have so many thankfully. He is out there somewhere.
It looks he enjoyed a lot. I love children’s photos, they are so cute, so naturally spreading their emotions. Adults often wear masks, but children not. They are true.
Yes he was very happy here. Masks are worn by many sadly.
He must have a good time, he looks happy in this one!!
I remember I topped my class in standing broad jump when I was 10, still feels proud now :p
Yes he was only two years old here. It was a great trip and he had a blast. See, you have great memories to share! Thank you.
Well, you reminded me to think of it 🙂
That is a good thing. Have a great day.
So cool to see related posts below I had forgotten about posting…
Do you ever notice the posts below yours?
Actually I do notice of them … sometimes I clicked on them to see what I’ve done previously (if it’s my post) or see what others have said about similar topics 🙂
It’s great, you’ll have a gallery of Dustin online 🙂
I love how that happens! 😉 Yes indeed. Thank you!
