Sunset is beautiful no matter where we witness it. This one was photographed against the city background. The Sun is seen slowly sinking into the water tank of a nearby house. I took this picture with my phone camera from my terrace. As you can see, my photographic skills are very basic. Yet our nearest star presented a pretty picture when it was setting in the western horizon.
Sunrise is a prettier sight in Chennai as it rises from the sea side. I would dedicate a post for sunrise if I wake up in time to photograph one.

I love both. To me sunrises have a different kind of beauty, the coolness of the morning , the sweet songs of birds, smell of blooming flowers etc, while sunsets can be dramatic.

I love both of them in equal measure. But I would say that I have more pictures with sunset!
:-). Even for me, it is easier capturing sunsets because we are certainly awake during sunset.
I would have to say sunrise. The dawn seems more tranquil than the dusk, plus in the summer I have a hard time making it up past sunset. lol. I am an early to rise and early to bed person. Great shot here.
That is a nice habit Kim. I am late to bed and still an early rise. Have to live with sleep problems. 🙁

Great to hear that Suny. An evening spent well in Marina with Sundal, the local snacks, is always awesome.
I mostly spent my evenings watching toward the setting sun but boats up the beach having lovebirds blocked my way… you know what I mean .)
I love the sunset. I too do pictures with a smartphone. I think the pictures are just as pretty ?
