Spearmint ~ Color Crazy

I remember my Grandmother always carried peppermint in her purse. She would get what she called coughing spells. I did the same, but used them mainly for breath mints.

As I got older I found the spearmint flavored was better than the peppermint. Something a little different. I also learned some health benefits from these mints.

The natural antibacterial nature of organic compounds in spearmint help protect your mouth and throat from infections, including those that can damage dental and gum health.

Menthol, one of the most powerful ingredients in spearmint, has a soothing and sedative effect on the body. It has been known to help you get into a calm and relaxed state.

If you suffer from chronic stress or anxiety, a cup of spearmint tea can help ease your mind and eliminate the negative effects of chronic stress hormones on your body’s systems.

And now you know the rest of the spearmint story.

  1. I always like mint or spearmint, makes me want to get more mint plants in the garden…For some reason the mint in my garden died but I know in time it will grow back again.
Mint is always a nice tea. Just put it into a cup and drink it on its own or with lemon juice or honey. Sometimes on its own.
When I boil vegetables I like to put a sprig of mint with it.
