The system view consists of the inputs, the processes and ultimately the outputs of the overall innovation. So in the case of a GPS you would have an antenna that collects the GPS signal. You would have a process that applies the various information provided in the GPS feed and the device itself resulting in an on-screen display of your location and a map.
Finally, as the innovator moves from the logical phase to the physical phase, they begin moving past the system view and model to a physical view including the prototype of the overall solution.
Activities of the Physical Phase
· Building a prototype of the solution (working) but not to scale
· Building a prototype of the solution (working and to scale)
· Initial testing of the prototype – does the solution perform as expected?
· Prepare and plan the manufacturing process
· Build the solution
Based on the core activities in this phase it would appear to be the single longest phase. It can be at times. It is most likely the phase where estimations fail. The reality of innovations is however that the first stage (conceptual) can be the longest. The logical phase is always the shortest phase. Solutions slip in the physical phase of implementation.
RiskImpactProbabilityMitigationThe idea while the sound takes many years to come to fruitionHighHighOrganizations that support innovation through failure are the best mitigation for long germination periods. We underestimated the time to build this new solution.HighHighThe reality of this is communication. Projects don’t slide 6 months in one day, they slip 6 months over 6 months. Communicate early and often about delays. The appearance of failure is painful, but communication makes it easier.

I remember when batman was on t.v.
I pinned this one for those who may understand. 🙂
Thanks, Andria that was very nice of you!
I dunno but I remember the change from betamax to disc for sure ?
That was a painful time for Sony. They invested heavily and lost.
I have dim memories of vacuum tubes. They still haunt my steampunk designs…
Now that, I would like to see mon ami!
I haven’t done any steampunk this year
**Please**
Steampunk is one of my all-time favorite genre’s!
I will, but meanwhile content yourself with

https://virily.com/art/frame-arms-girl-wip/
enough, for now. But (hand slamming on the invisible table) I expect more! (winking). 😉
I also had one of a girl in a cage dress, which I really need to get back to
Interesting information. I do not remember the first television or computer. I remember that I bought the first TV when I was married (1974) ?
Isn’t it amazing sometimes when we look back at the evolution of Tech over the course of our lives!
I remember our black & white TV and seeing “News Reel” straight from the UK. Yes I also remember the first computer I got from Cash converters, it was full of viruses. It ended up in the Ark a computer recycling place. then 2 of us won a small prize from Lotto and from the proceeds got an iG5 apple computer I really loved that computer.
I was an apple user for many years! I love my MacBook!
Yes, I also love my Mac book
It is funny sometimes but once upon a time, Mac Vs PC was a real thing!
My first computer was Spectrum 48.
Ah how long ago it was.
I remember getting a Commodore 64 network setup at my school. I had to tell all the teachers not to change ANYTHING.
I remember my Grandpa kept his black and white tv, he never got a color tv. And his was nice with the big console, but it was black and white.
I remember our first tv it was black and white
We actually had a small black and white as well.
we had a Magnavox. My grandfather was a really good bowler. In 1963 he actually won two color TV’s in a bowling tournament. He gave one to his daughter (my mother). Suddenly the world was in Color!
Very interesting announcement … I do not remember the transition to color television, not the first computer … I only know that it was long ago
In the US the transition began around 1963 (to color tv)
So somehow I also had the head in my head … 50 years ago … it’s obviously 56 … probably Europe is not far behind
I would say you probably started to see them in 65 r 66
very productive article , thank you for sharing
Thanks for the kind words!
