This Fritillary butterfly will probably be the last butterfly photo of 2018 from my garden. Although it is a very common butterfly, it is so beautiful and the markings are incredible. When the blooms start disappearing so do the butterflies. I will keep looking for more but this may be it for the season. I am not complaining as the butterfly bush has earned its name as usual. If you do not have one in your garden you should try to get one. I plan to add another one. Nature is something else.

I like to have a camera like yours. beautiful shot.
A small Canon PowerShot is what I used. Thanks
It is so nice really, and those birds. beautiful.
the spots match the blossoms
Thanks for noticing… as Eeyore would say
I always enjoy effective camouflage
Mysterious instead of obvious any day
like most things, it all depends on the context…
Great photo & butterfly! That is a sad thing about summer coming to an end…the flowers dying and the butterflies leaving along with them…
Thanks! I agree, when the seasons change we always give up something. But they will return.
That is true, something to be looking forward to in the future.
We always have to be looking towards the future.
I always enjoy visits from the butterflies, bees and humming birds. The butterflies have been a little scarce this year.
Yes the same here. Not sure why.
I love those kinds of butterflies. Great shot. Next year I will be able to see more of them with that black knight. So it is time for them to quit blooming. I was thinking I did something wrong, mine has one bloom left.
My fav visitor is my hawk friend. Oh and guess what I had in my yard yesterday.
A Ruby Red hummer!!
Wow Kim you have great visitors and prettier hummers than we do. My Bush still has a few blooms but almost gone. Cannot wait to see your beauty next year. That red hummer on that black Bush will be stunning.
Im going to need a better camera.. Christmas wish list? lol 😉
It is hard to beat to little Camera PowerShot I have, that is all I use for my nature photos.
I love the butterflies that come around my home as well. Your visitors are always so beautiful.
Thanks LaJenna glad you see the butterflies too.
A great visit … we will miss them a bit and wait for them to come back
Thanks, they will return soon and are still around here and there.
I do not know which visitor is better and better – everybody is welcome
I have to agree with you, I too love all of nature.
How we look like Carol
Beautiful visitor. Most visitors to my house and garden are cats, but the most abundant and rarely counted are various kinds of ants.
Thank you Albert. I never grow tired of seeing them.
Coz you are a contemplative watcher, Carol.
Thank you. And I rarely see ants thank goodness.
I would say my favorite visitor would be a hawk. I love seeing them. I love watching them fly.
Hawks are always cool to see as long as they are flying and not catching prey.
I enjoy just watching them, even when they are catching prey just beautiful.
Does only insects counts?
I wish for rabbits or puppies to visit me … lol
No, anything goes in nature. 🙂
