Helen Keller remains to this day an inspiration to many all over the world. It is always so hard to decide on a quote to share of hers. I love reading everything she wrote. She was an American author, political activist, and lecturer. She was the first deaf-blind person to earn a bachelor of arts degree. The story of Keller and her teacher, Anne Sullivan, was made famous by Keller’s autobiography, The Story of My Life, and its adaptations for film and stage, The Miracle Worker.
Your success and happiness lies in you.Resolve to keep happy, and your joy and youshall form an invincible host against difficulties.~Helen Keller

Saw the Disney version of The Miracle Worker some months ago and read the biography of Helen Keller after that. The fortitude of this great woman is astounding.
Oh wow I did not see that Disney version. I cannot say enough about her.
Some information about this movie for you if you’re interested – https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Miracle_Worker_(2000_film)
Unfortunately, I have not heard of her yet
Really? She was both blind and deaf and very well known for her diary and quotes. The movie I referenced is worth watching, called The Miracle Worker.
I have read many books including novels and poems, I cannot quiet pinpoint one writer or poet. But, while saying this I cannot forget the true life story of Ben Carson who wrote his autobiography of how he grew from a poor family to one of the most respected surgeons in America and all over the world. The book is called, THINK BIG. And guess what, every initial of those two words has got a meaning to it according to him.
I know what you mean, there are a lot of good ones out there. Thank you for sharing your favorite.
I see you have a nice conversation above.
As far as I’m concerned.I read books, avoiding reading on line.
I love Charles Baudelaire–flowers of evil , E.A. Po F.G. Lorca, and some domestic poets that you have not even heard of.
Nice post Carol.
Thank you Robin. I have many people who have inspired me over the years.
My favorite writers changes as I keep reading more. It’s hard to pick a favorite because they write in different genres. It depends on which I want to read.
I know what you mean, I have many that inspire me.
Helen Keller’s life is an inspiration, but Carol DM is one of my favorite inspirational writers.
Oh stop it! I am not a writer, I just write on here from my broken heart. Thant you my dear friend.
We are all writers of some kind, and you my friend have made a difference here.
My favorite poet is Samuel Taylor Coleridge
“If men could learn from history, what lessons it might teach us. But passion and party blind our eyes, and the light which experience gives us is a lantern on the stern, which shines only on the waves behind us.”
― Samuel Taylor Coleridge
that’s what I’m talking about
I have lots of authors I like, but I don’t think I have a favorite. Well maybe favorites for different genre.
Unfortunately, I do not know this author
She was such an inspiration lado. June 27, 1880 – June 1, 1968, she was an American author, political activist, and lecturer. She was the first deaf-blind person to earn a bachelor of arts degree.
After that, he was one of the kind of phenomenon-blind who graduated
Wow an amazing tribute to an extraordinary person. Her quote is so profound.
She was just incredible, right Bradley.
I have many favorite writers, but if I think about it, it seems that I rarely read books lately.
Whether because of time constraints or because of more reading on the device.
I never read any more either Albert except for online.
Somehow, actually I still prefer to read and flip through book pages.
Quote by Doc? Makes a ton of sense. Thanks for sharing it my friend.
Brilliance is not contained in the words we share, nor is it in the paintings we draw. Brilliance is overcoming odds without becoming angry.
Quote by Doc? Makes a ton of sense. Thanks for sharing it my friend.
It is from a poem written long ago although I did paraphrase it a lot.
