Have You Cast Your Vote?

Section 8 under Article VI of the 1987 Philippine Constitution states that unless otherwise provided by law, the regular election of the Senators and the Members of the House of Representatives shall be held on the second Monday of May.

Today, May 13, 2019, is the midterm election and those who will be elected will take office on June 30, 2019.

My daughter and I went to the polling precinct at around 11:30 in the morning. Since it’s almost noon, there are already a lot of people in the area waiting for their chance to vote. It took us an hour and thirty minutes before we finally cast our votes.

This is the first time that I went to the polling precinct almost noon. In the past, I would always see to it to be at the polling precinct first thing in the morning. When you’re early, you can finish early.

    • But I think many are happier because those the people they voted for in the first place. Personally, I am very disappointed but that’s the choice of the majority of voters. But on the local side, I am happy with the result.

Thank you for dropping by ArtBytes. I don’t know what’s happening to the other site.

  1. I research thoroughly, and base my decision on who to vote based on their policies, their way of life as citizens before their run for candidacy—have they contributed to the economic progress in their community and country as a whole?. Is the leader I will put my trust in willing to hold himself/herself accountable in protecting me and my family, my country and the general population militarily and cionstitutionally? Is this leader a doer and keeper of his promises?

  2. The voter turnout in Italy is quite high, 73% of those who are eligible to vote, cast their vote. I didn’t vote for the last election, while I plan to vote for the EU parliament and local (regional) government. I only voted once, for the previous EU election.
At the moment, it’s exciting to go voting because I’m young and have little experience, but honestly, I don’t believe elections can make a serious difference. 😕

  3. It is tense in the US right now. Lots of mud being flung.

Elections are interesting. I wish there was more focus on doing electronic elections. Prove you are who you say you are and use your phone to voice

    • Switching to a full electronic election can be a good option but I am not sure if this will be possible at this time. Though we have certain progress in our system as we don’t have to wait for several days before knowing the result. The counting and submission of votes are done electronically.

    • The truth is I am very disappointed on the result of this year’s election. Majority of the voters in the country remain unwise with their choices of candidates for a government elective position.
