Construction without column is not possible, because a building will easily collapse without it. That is the essence of construction, as well as the construction of our bodies, and also our various thoughts.
I reposted the concrete column from construction in a black and white version for me to share in Black & White Friday this week. I have posted the color version of this image on the fourteenth day of the 365 days photo challenge.
In ourselves, besides the backbone that supports our body, there is another essence that supports our life which is actually more important than our spine.

Thank you for your appreciation, my friend.
Black and white has its own value and essence.
You are absolutely right, my friend.
My co-worker used to talk about the concept of human buffer overflow (back in the days of managing DOS computers a buffer overload was bad!).
He would say each of us has a maximum input level. The buffer is simply the point at which we as humans reduce the amount of input in order to not exceed our buffer.
When we exceed our buffer, we are suddenly adrift in a sea of confusion.
As human flesh and blood, we do have a variety of limitations, and when the burden that must be borne or the input that enters too much we will lose balance.
That is why it is important for us to understand and realize the main pillars of our lives in all aspects of life.
It is hard to separate at times, the impact and the reality. Understanding and building our main pillars is sometimes lost.
It is very understandable considering our reality here is filled with various roles and challenges in all aspects of life. That’s why we often do introspection, contemplation, or others.
I read a great piece by Henry Nouwen. He basically talked about the two journeys each of us take, within ourselves and within the world.
That’s impressive reading!
Our life source itself, as humans we are frail and depend on many things to keep us alive. Yet you can live with no life at all
I believe that love is essential
Wise perpective , Pamela. I am sure that life is the Love itself.
Live with no life at all just like a robot or zombie…
I have this belief of the saying which goes “Be grateful for things that I have.”
Totally agree with you. I also strongly agree with that saying.
I am saying that since my sister lost a family dog due to old age (15) on Thursday, even thought our family dog named Poochie is no longer with us, we gave her a long life to spend in our home.
Owh… I’m so sorry for your lost. I’m sure that you and your family have given Poochie all the best in his life.
Poochie was given all of our love and kindness during her long life.
You always seem to make me think. Great image.
It seems like that, Trenna. But it’s also just playing.
I think it’s a soul or a heart. There are many things that support our lives.
Yes! Without our souls there will never be, or will soon be buried.
I’m not sure what you mean by the main “buffer of our lives” but I have a daughter who always tells me that the spirit ( soul ) is more important than our body. (She is a nun and lives in a monastery) Could be that!
Great picture! The construction falls but the column remains!
Again and again, you prove to me that you are the true philosopher! Yes, the soul is the life itself while the body is just a wrap of it.
Thanks! Engineer support is what I really need in this writing!
Are you referring to our consciousness perhaps?
I did it again… forget to comment on your photo, I get so caught up in your words! This buffer is amazing, it represents how others, usually our significant other, help hold us together. Sometimes in life it takes more than one to hold it all together. That is what I saw in this photo. We all need a strong buffer.
That’s okay, Carol.
You are right, and it shows how important it is for us to be grateful for so many things that have sustained our lives, right now, right?
Absolutely, we should all be grateful for things and people often taken for granted.
Yes, Carol. Consciousness, our awareness of our soul the life itself.
Oh good, I thought it might have been a trick question. 🙂
No… Indeed I’m tricky but not that much…
I clicked “Yes” and then realised that I may not know the answer … lol
I’d believe its “principles” or “values”…
No problem, dear friend.
Yes, both are the backbone of the character in living life and the essence of a culture or the way we behave.
The black and white picture has its own charm only for me personally is a colorful prettier dear friend …. of B & W I like the only Whiskey
Yes, even though all cameras now produce images with beautiful images, B & W images still have their own charm.
Let’s have a toast.
Čin Čin dear Albert…
