Seems that our friend Ghostwriter has been very busy creating challenges for us to participate in. I am trying to keep up.
Just received this cute little owl photo from her with a dare to write about.
I never see owls in my yard. I hear them at night while sitting out in the screen room. And I often visit the local park and see the rescued owls. They have two now and one is named Cotton. So happy these two were rescued.
Back to this cute photo. Look at those eyes. He/she seems to have so much personality. Not sure of this species but it looks like a short-eared owl. I cannot see his ears in this photo. But he is definitely a juvenile.
You can tell by the long hair above his feet. Would like to see him as an adult. What a cute little owl. Seems to be posing for the photo. Wish I could see this one in my backyard.

Are you ready to accept the dare and write about a random photo?

Such funny fluffy pants he has.
this is a fantastic and very interesting idea for a challenge. “D
Fantastic, idea! You did so well and I am glad you mentioned our buddy Cotton at the center. This little guy in the picture is seen here and in AZ’s deserts! So cute, and tiny!
The picture is great. There are many challenges I cannot participate in at all.
I cannot remember them ll either, I post when and where I can. It’s all fun.
Such a nice looking owl to talk about. I posted the one about your photo of choice but was I suppose to use it as the main photo because I didn’t. I used one of my own photos for the main one, then I posted the link you sent me, but here you used her actual photo.
You are fine, thanks for posting. It’s all fun. You can do it either way.
Owls are very unique birds!
I always wondered why they were considered intelligent, was it simply because they look like they are smart?
Yes they are very smart. Not sure why about a lot things about nature. It sure it cool to learn new things every day.
my goal is to be a life long learner!
I love the look in the Owl’s face, you have captured an extremely interesting and bold Owl..I will take on the dare ,,,this gives me inspiration
Wish it were my photo! Ghostwriter sent it to me and dared me to talk about it. So I did!
iT LOOKS VERY BEAUTIFUL , THANKS FOR SHARING
Thanks for visiting and commenting.
We had four owls which we could see in the day time but then I did not have a camera with a zoom feature. And about this challenge I have enough on my hands already.
I agree about the challenge, I cannot take them all on either. Just trying this one out for fun. I hear the owls at night but never see them.
I missed an opportunity to capture those 4 Carol. They would just sit there and talk to each other in whispers.
Oh well, they are like that, camera shy.
clearly a juvenile- he’s wearing short pants!
Yes but he is a cutie. Would love to see them in my yard. I hear them at night.
they’re amazingly light colored for a nocturnal predator…
Maybe the feathers will darken as he matures.
owls are generally light and tan
That is a wonderful photo of the owl, I have lots to share here so the challenges are difficult to keep up with but I do now and then. I anyone sent me a photo I would do my best,
Ghostwriter messaged me the photo as part of the challenge. Wish it was mine! I will send you a photo when I get a minute. 🙂
Very nice photo. Unfortunately, I do not follow all the challenges, I hope that I will succeed sometime ?
I am trying to do a few but am not stressing out over so many. Just picking the ones that are fun and different.
I am not sure if I am able to keep up with all the challenges in Virily. I would want to have more free time for such a pleasure to spend more time here and catch up with all new things. You chose a very nice photo.
You are fine. I can’t keep up either.
There are a lot of challenges going on right now.
The picture is great I just don’t think she took this picture so close by herself … no owl would wait that way
No she did not take the photo.
It looks like a big sweet!
Would love to see one in my yard.
That’s an amazing photo! By the way – the “ears” of short-eared and long-eared owls are not actually ears!
I read that they actually have ear tufts tucked in, and are not visible.
