A couple of ideas to fix this site!

I started blogging in 2004 and then really started full time blogging in 2005. I started with one blog on Windows Live. Over time I started writing for many other blogs. My first paid blogging experience was around 2008 or 2009. I have and continue to make a small amount of money blogging. I don’t consider it an income; it is merely money that is extra.  But I know that my contribution to this site and others is the content I create. I suspect the best thing we could do right now is to all take a two or three-day break from the site and see if that gets the message across. You see, right now we have a problem. The admin team doesn’t seem to be responding to emails.

I am not calling for nor saying we should boycott the site yet. I am just throwing that out as a topic of discussion. Would people be willing to take two days off?

That is the power we have as a community; I am loathed to ask people to use it, but if we had to, anyway, please comment on what you think about this? The other issue and solution in front of us are asking the admin team to give us more control over publication. By us, I mean no specific today, simply that a group of people should be allowed to move posts forward quickly.

There is considerable risk with author approval systems cheating is, of course, part of the problem. We lost the edit button on this site because Illena C. refused to listen to other authors. She continued to post high view and high comment posts over and over. It cost authors many views and created a huge controversy. The result was the admin team took away the edit button. With approvals, we could have the same situation with people not playing by the rules.

What could we do to prevent cheating/abusing an author run system?

Would you be willing to take a 2 or 3-day break without posting to show the admins we are serious!

  1. I had a very long break here without any posting.
If to be honest I did not like you blamed Ilena for taking away edit button. Is it fair? Who said you she was guilty for that? Or it is just your assumptions? We should not go into personal blamings.
You think only new posts generate revenue?

  3. Doc I need every penny I can get and already lost two weeks. However, if you all decide to do something like that then I will wander around on other sites until we can get back here but I sure would like to get a payment end of September. Let me know I will go along.
