Beef noodle is one of the families favorite dishes, I reckon it comes from the old days of when I was young and bought Hamburger helper, but its simple to make at home and just as easy.
You can go all the way fresh or you can do a little short cut that I did tonight.
You`ll Need :
- 1 -pound of ground beef
- 1- small onion chopped
- 2- packets of brown gravy mix
- 1- can or jar of mushrooms
- 1 1/2 cups of egg noodles
How to make it :
In a sauce pan put 3 cups of water onto boil, add a sprinkle of salt, bring to a rolling boil and add the egg noodles.
In a large skillet cook the hamburger meat and chopped onion over medium heat, stirring breaking up the meat. Cook until done.
Remove from heat and prop up on another stove eye so that the skillet leans, move the meat and onion mixture to the top and allow the grease to run to the bottom, dip off the grease.
Add the 2 packets of brown gravy mix to the meat, slowly add 1 1/2 cups of water, stirring to make sure there is no lumps, turn the heat on to medium low, As the water heats the gravy will thicken.
When the noodles are done, removed them from the heat and drain all liquid off. Add to the Hamburger mixture.
Drain the mushrooms and add to the mixture.Stir and allow to simmer a few minutes, turn off the heat and let it rest for about 5 minutes.
And that is how to make beef noodle with Mushrooms, cooking with Angie.
Serving suggestions: Serve with English peas, green beans or Cole slaw.
Note: To make it all the way use fresh strong beef broth and add two tablespoons of flour.
