What you are looking at are – two glasses of iced ‘chin chau’ or grass jelly drinks, and an ‘ice kacang’ – literally ice peanuts. Ice kacang is a popular dessert here consisting of shaved ice, evaporated milk, syrup, palm syrup, coconut milk, drizzled on top… Under the ice, the ‘treasure’ include peanuts, strips of jelly, creamed corn, red bean or kidney beans.
