My Dog Frani Died Today

My beloved dog Frani died today from having 4 seizures in an hour. Frani is 13 year old Australian Cattle Dog. She was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer 6 months ago and Laryngeal paralysis 3 weeks ago. She had been taking 3 prednisone a day. Over the last 4 weeks she continued to decline and eat less and less. All she wanted to do was sleep. She would look up at me and I could see the depression in her eyes.

Having to let her go was one of the most difficult decisions I’ve even had to do. She was suffering so much and wasn’t able to walk since she was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I held her in my arms and kept telling her I loved her. She was my rambunctious playful little girl and loved me unconditionally for 13 years. I’m really going to miss every little thing about her, watching movies with her snuggled into my side, kissing her lips her snores, everything. She was my baby and now she is gone forever. I pray to God I’ll see Frani again one day.

  1. My dog Anana is Frani’s age and she even looks like her, right down to the graying mouth. I know, sometime soon my wife and I will have to say goodbye sometime, too soon. She will be joining our other 4 legged children who briefly shared their lives with us. My wife and I are fast heading to 70 and will be honoured to join them once more. No amount of words can remove the pain, only time will smooth over its raw edges. Bless you

  2. Sorry for the loss of your dog. I know how you feel. Please remember the great time you had with your pet since that is the best way to keep on moving forward.

  3. I am very sorry for your loss. I think she will be waiting for you in heaven. God wanted animals in his kingdom since the beginning of time, it talks about in the Bible.

  4. I am so so sorry Gina! Reading your post, I am bawling and seeing the situation in front of my eyes. However, I am glad that you came to the final decision to let her go! I can’t imagine the pain and suffering she must go through daily..

    Rest in peace, Frani!

  5. I’m so sorry to hear about your loss, Gina. I’ve lost dogs in the past and our current dog is getting pretty old and we don’t expect him to live much longer. It’s like losing a member of the family.

  7. O Dear kind Gina, I am so sorry for your big loss. I fully understand that whatever words of comfort I can convey, will not dissolve your grief. Nevertheless, I am sure her beautiful soul will be calmer if you are willing to give up her passed with full sincerity. All the best for you and Frani.

      • I can understand and feel your pain and deepest sadness, Gina. Losing a sincere and unconditional love friend. Hopefully the day you can give up will come soon so that Frani is happy to see you laughing merrily again as when with her.
By the way, she’s still with you there, beside you, accompanying you cry for her. She said, “I’m always happy to be with you, thanks for your pure love, now please be happy as I am now feeling very happy.” That’s Frani’s message to you that she asked for help to convey to you.

  8. Gina, I am truly sorry for your loss. I wish there were words I could share that would help you right now, but all I can do is like all the other loyal readers here, is post our support.

You are not alone, although you may feel that way.

  9. I’m so sorry for your loss, Gina. I know that some people who’ve never had long term pets will not understand. But I do. You’ll carry Frani with you in your heart for all of your days. I still carry my boxer Susie in my heart for more than 40 years now. Be thankful for the lovely times you shared together, and for how you brought so much happiness into each other’s lives. And let yourself cry 🙂

  10. I am so sorry for your loss, I know I would be devastated if I lost my dog or either of my cats, or my snake. Animals are so amazing and special, they are part of the family.
