    • Reminds me of an old joke, wherein a Chinese accent is imitated in the punchline: “Philately will get you nowhere” (No, I don’t remember the rest of the joke.) My youthful philately pays dividends in recognising native country names, except the new ones of course.

    • Well, if you enjoyed it, my mission is accomplished. About a week ago, I resolved to ease back on the difficulty of my quizzes. I’m not sure I’ve kept that resolution! Thanks for playing, Howard 🙂

  1. That was my first quiz here, and it was SO HARD!! I only got 3 right, how embarrassing. I am sure that it was a great example to learn from though. Thanks.

    • It was certainly a case of jumping in the deep end, Sally! I’m a divil for making my quizzes tough. Part 2 of this is coming up today; it might be easier, but I’m making no promises! Thanks for playing 🙂

    • Very good score, Gary (compare the others!) When I was a kid I used to collect stamps, and I recognise a lot of names from then. Thanks for playing 🙂

      • I loved collecting stamps as well. The images on stamps are so fascinating and one can learn a lot about a country from a tiny piece of paper. It’s sad that in this age of emails, and ecards, our kids will probably never receive a letter or see a stamp.
