    Luke was an Evangelist (Ancient Greek: Λουκᾶς, Loukãs) and is one of the Four Evangelists—the four traditionally ascribed authors of the canonical Gospels. He was not one of the 12 Disciples. The “Inner Circle” was actually Peter, John and James.
