Last year I shared with you a post about a yoga pose that I find really helpful for back pain. Apparently, not all yoga poses may be beneficial for back problems. Yesterday, I came across to this video of the physical therapists Bob Schrupp and Brad Heineck who share 7 yoga poses that are bad for the back. They were mainly talking about poses that include bending down and twisting. The video received criticism because the poses weren’t correctly performed and that could be the actual reason for causing stress and injury on the back.
In another video, they shared 7 yoga poses that are beneficial for back health.

Awesome article and quiz…check out my new post on yoga: https://virily.com/beauty-health/how-to-progress-further-in-yoga-and-life/ and let me know what you think!
Thank you, I will take a look. I am always interested in learning more about yoga.
Very curious post, even if I don’t practice yoga!!! Simply do morning exercises and it helps me to cope with back pain.
Thank you so much! I am glad to hear that you have found the method that helps you! Happy weekend!
I used to do yoga but haven’t recently. I believe it is helpful especially if you have a well trained teacher
That’s true! Maybe you’ll feel more motivated to start practicing again. 🙂
I have back pain, but I use herbal pills. I do not practice yoga.
Glad to hear that you have found the method that helps you!
I do yoga because I like the stretching, I can touch my toes to my forehead…
That’s impressive! I like stretching too, but I am not that flexible.
it’s natural, not the result of years of yoga. but I can tell you that stretch feels great!
I injured my back many years ago. I’ve slowly gotten tot eh point where the yoga helps ease the tightness.
I am nowhere near a yoga practitioner, I only do certain poses.
Same here, I only do the poses that I like or feel help me. It’s quite helpful though.
Yoga has helped me a lot and my back isn’t as bad.
I am glad to hear that! 🙂
It took me nearly 20 years to recover.
Fortunately, I have no problems with my back … I do not even know about yoga

No back pain, mercifully! Thanks for sharing Ellie925.
I am glad to hear that! Happy weekend!
Glad to hear that you are having a healthy back!
I hope you are also healthy dear friend
Thank you so much! Have a onderful weekend!
I also want a nice weekend for you
I’m thinking to try yoga, but I have a little fear that I will do the exercises properly.
If you can find an instructor near you, that would be the best. I personally use youtube videos and I am very careful. It’s better to progress slowly than risk to get an injury. It helps me a lot. 🙂
I totally agree with you. That’s why I’m not even trying on my own.
Some friends who practice Yoga explain various benefits, including for back pain. I myself only do “Energy Dance”, an exercise that only follows the flow of energy without our involvement to regulate its movements or postures.
Different practices work for different people. I also find the benefits of yoga, but I decided that for now I’ll be careful with certain poses that may not be very good for the lower back.
You are right, Ellie. By the way, do you have a problem with the lower back?
Yes, I have been having some pain because of bad posture and sitting for too long, but I am working on it. 🙂
Ah, it must be uncomfortable, hopefully, that unpleasant disturbance can be resolved soon, Ellie,
Thank you very much for your kind wishes! I hope everything is going well for you!
You are always welcome and thank you for your kind wishes too, Ellie.
Yoga helps back pain if you are able to do the exercises but always be mindful of your own body and its capabilities
Tai Chi helped me as well
Tai Chi can be very beneficial too. I have never tried it, but I have been curious about it.
Many people say doing yoga helps back pain. It is good for relaxing the mind.
It’s very helpful for many aspects of our health indeed.
I have heard others say it helps their back. Heating pads do the trick for me and stretching, which is similar to yoga.
Yes, stretching is pretty much yoga, just different names. Of course, there’s more to yoga, but I am mostly focused on the physical part. 🙂
