October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this month is symbolically marked by pink ribbons. However, in order to touch especially this month with the initiative on raising awareness and the importance of prevention in this field, many cities in our country have joined the all-Slovenian Pink Knitwear project. The project was created by Europa Donna. These are pink knitwear that have been knit by skilful hands for some time, with the aim of wrapping at least one tree in the city to raise awareness amongst the general public about breast cancer and to highlight the importance of a healthy lifestyle, early detection and effective treatment of the disease. Lest you misunderstand. No wacky this project I support with all my heart. The “clothed” trees are a little wacky.

I just lost a friend to this dreaded disease. Why is this on the rise everywhere?
I lost my mother to this disease. I too often wonder why there are so many diseases. I don’t know, maybe we talk about it more, sometimes I think it was a taboo topic
It should not be a taboo topic. We should get to the bottom of it. I suspect general worsening of living conditions to be a cause. We do not have clean air anymore.
I agree. Also, it certainly affects the development of this disease.
That is a unique and impressive way to raise that awareness, Vidocka! That’s really an important awareness that must be supported. This reminds me of my youngest sister who had to have her breasts removed three years ago.
…and I think this not merely happened for the women only coz men could have this cancer too…
I totally agree with you. I know little about this disease because my mom died of cancer. So I really like this project.
This is a great project and something that is really worthwhile
I agree and I am glad that people have joined this project
I understand that you no longer have the button created. Try to create using this link. https://virily.com/create/. It could work.
Thank you so much, Ileana. I tried, but it doesn’t work. I do not even receive any virils now for viewing and comment.
This is awesome! We went to the walk in DC. (we walked, well I walked the entire walk, my wife did 1/2).
I love this version – so beautiful!!!!
I agree. Every little thing is so important that people are aware of this disease.
My wife lost a good friend to the disease. It is something that we all need to be fighting against!
I agree. I lost my mother to this disease.
I am so sorry.
It is a terrible disease.
Yes, In Spain there is a lot of pink awareness to talk about cancer.
That’s nice to hear. Awareness is also increasing in our country
We get free breast screening here for early detection.. but many people die of cancer. For any type of cancer you need to catch it quickly…
We also have a free checkup in our country. But as you said, unfortunately, there are many types of this disease that we cannot detect quickly.
we should be aware of how many women suffer from it and how little is being done to treat it
I agree. In our country, the outlook on this has improved considerably
that’s good to hear and refreshing to know
Love this idea, so wonderful and thank you for sharing this with us.
It really is an interesting idea and I am glad that it has received a good response.
That looks a great initiative, I hope most people support it.
Although this idea is quite new in our country, it has received an incredible response.
The first time I hear about this event, dear Vidocka … it really is a little weird
I agree, but it’s a very interesting idea.
It’s really interesting and something special … when I saw a tree dressed like that I didn’t know what it was
I was surprised too …
Well, at least now I know what it is about, dear Vidocka
I heard about using knitwear to adorn trees but great that this is for breast cancer awareness
I agree. This is a very interesting idea.
What a great initiative and it is so cute and adorable. I love to knit although I have never knitted any kind of pink knitwear hugging a tree before. The only advertisement and program with pink for breast cancer that I ever seen here in Canada is the pink ribbon. Maybe I could start a fashionable cancer awareness program with pink knitwear knitted with my own pudgy hands here in my corner of the world…
This is a really interesting idea that is new in our country. Knitwear can be made by anyone who wants it and bring it to the agreed place. But for some time now we have pink ribbons
I would if this project existed here. You do not have to explain about why you have called this post whacky It is understood that you are talking of dressing the trees pink.
Thank you, Grace. Maybe someone would think I’m making fun of very serious things ?
I would support the project too, we have other kinds of breast cancer awareness programs here.
This project is new, we also have some more ways to raise awareness
