Strange Looking Fruits

Wherever I go I keep my eyes open to observe the kind of flora and fauna which are there. I also get to see a few strange kind of plants and trees this way.

On one of our road trips I saw something strangely red in the sky, since we were on a highway we couldn’t stop close by.  We had to make a round trip of ten kilometers to come back to the spot and get a closer look at the tree.

There were no leaves on the tree at that time, the branches were full of fruits that were bright red, the size of tennis balls. The mature ones were cracked open to reveal huge black seeds inside. But they were way too high up to get a specimen and take a closer look.

I took a few pictures of the tree and left as we were headed much further.

    • I am glad that one person has seen this before. But I am not sure they are flower buds. They had huge seeds inside.

      • Ah so they are seed pods. I wish I could remember the name. We have a whole row of them on a side street nearby. Are the trunks big? Like oversized big?

  1. Unfortunately, this tree is unknown to me, my friend … it was a very nice driver that he made a 10 km circle to paint this tree

    • Yassin, I post this everywhere to ask people if they know what it is, unfortunately no one seems to have seen it. Kim is the only one who has seen this before.

  2. I am not very sure but to me it looks like what I used to eat in my childhood. It’s not sold in the market but we had to pick them from the ground! Next tie you see this fruit try y trick 🙂
    I think it’s sycamore fig.

    • Since you love Cricket , this one is the size of a cricket ball, looks pretty leathery, the skin is like half and inch thick.. you may not be able to eat this one. I have never seen this tree after that first time. However, I will look up sycamore fig, but I doubt it.
