Here is Louis, our little budgie. This photo was taken some time ago but a budgie like Louis is cheeky and friendly. He likes to chat
Every animal or bird has an entirely different personality they are never the same.
Louis is 12 years old . We are so fortunate to have him.
I have been extremely busy with one thing or another… Life can be like that.
No, I am not sorry that Louis lives in a bird cage if I let him go in the wild in New Zealand he would die very quickly. Budgies in New Zealand don’t live long free…The other birds would hunt him down and kill him.
Often pet budgies don’t live past 5 years of age because they are fed supermarket bird seed and not the proper food. I give him Harrisons formula and a bit of garden greens plus a flight around the room once or twice a day. He actually prefers his own cage..that is his home.
Yes, the bird cages need to be kept clean with fresh food and water everyday.
He is a good friend and everyone loves him. He is a very sociable bird and greets everyone.

Thanks that Louis is great as a companion and keeps us happy too, thanks Ellie
Our pets also take us quite a while to take good care of them.
Good that you do, pets to me are family too. thanks Vidocka
I only have one cat now. Louis looks adorable.
Thanks Maria, glad you like Louis we adore him he is a great friend
This Louis of yours is very nice, dear Pamela …. I don’t have any pets
Thanks Lado, at least Louis is a good traveller and goes with us in holidays in New Zealand
It’s nice to hear that he’s on holiday with you, dear friend
So glad you shared Lois with us. You know I have two cats. I have had other pets in the past, several dogs and other cats.
Thanks Carol, I love all animals
First I had an aquarium with fish, then a cage with birds.
They now live and enjoy a dog and cat with us.
Thanks as a child we had gold fish, cats, mice, rats, frogs, budgies and now I just have a bird, Louis the budgie. Plenty of cats in the village.
Aww, Louis is very cute. No you’re right, they wouldn’t last very long in the wild. Alas, I don’t have any pets. I would love a dog though. Maybe one day. =)
I would love to own a Zoo, but can only have this little bird. He is great company and I got him from Bird Rescue,
Thanks so much Coffee Queen I love our little Louis
My one daughter had a bird like this one, and its name was AMY. We have three cat.
Lovely pets are wonderful at any age they can improve your life, thanks Jenna
When a pet lives many years, it is a testament to the love the pet has for the owner, but also the owner for the pet!!!
Good on you Pam!
Thanks so much Doc, that is true and we are richer for it. Although the Vets do well out of it sometimes..
There are certain birds that cannot survive in the open such as love birds
Yes, Budgies cant either but in parts of Australia they live in flocks.
I have a dog and a cat. I have never had a pet bird. It seemed unfair to me to keep it in the cage. Louis looks wonderful!
Yes, so it would seem, Louis would not survive free of his cage and he does love his cage it is his home.
He does get a flight a day and protests when he has to leave the cage. He always flies back to the cage
