While out checking out my honeysuckle earlier, I noticed this male robin perched on the fence. He had a mouthful of food for his babies. I managed to get a decent shot as he didn’t see me behind the honeysuckle bush.
The robins hop all over the yard gathering insects for the babies. Nature is so amazing to watch. The cool part is when they feed the babies in the nest.

Such a gorgeous capture!
You have captured a rare thing, but a keeper for sure. Love it!
Yes I was very surprised and excited! 🙂
I didn’t know the males fed their babies. I learn something new every day
It depends on the species. They are all different. Like nest building. Sometimes the male, other times the female. Insterestng to learn.
I have not directly witnessed this. But I have seen birds carrying food in my beak. The photo shot is magical
Thats, it was such a wonderful surprise to see.
To watch birdies feed their babies is one of the most beautiful scene for me. I hardly get to see that.
It really is magical for me to watch. I love so much about nature.
We have been watching the Bald Eagles feed their young. We are guessing that tomorrow if we are lucky we will catch them in flight. It’s been fun to watch.
I watch a lot of webcams and the eagles are my favorite.
You were very fortunate that you managed to make a fantastic shot
Yes I got lucky with this one.
No birds here, just rain and rain. I missed their songs. The photo is just gorgeous.
I wish we hard rain, maybe soon.
… Thank you, I was taking photos of the honeysuckle and then there he was on the fence.
Wow! Nice capture!
What he is “holding” doesn’t looks delicious to me but I’m sure its for them and his babies …
I’ve seen documentaries of birds and seen feeding time … but that’s about it
I was excited to get this one. Just happened to see him sitting there.
We won’t talk about what he is holding but the babies will love it. 🙂
Ok, I guess that’s good enough 🙂
Impressive picture! I just saw birds feeding their babies on TV shows. Never seen it with my own eyes.
Thanks it was not planned at all. It is so cool to watch.
Wow, what a lucky shot, and a geat one at that! I understand that bird food from nature might seem gross to some of us but not really when you think that in Africa (for example) they eat grasshoppers and the likes…
It was one of those unplanned shots again. Yes I know others eat the same all over the world. Glad my yard can provide the food for the babies and other birds.
Bon Appetit Robin…………..
Yes and to his little babies. 🙂
You would love it here. We have so many birds, many loud and annoying, yes, and many with an attitude. I was standing by a fence and this kling kling came and perched about a foot from me on the fence. I didn’t say nothing to him and he didn’t say nothing to me, we both just stood and looked East for a time, and then he flew away.
I am sure you have many interesting birds in your world. I would love it there. Always love learning more about nature.
Most animals (including birds) are no afraid of me. They will come to me, esp. when I’m not paying any attention. I think it is because I am a vegetarian so they know I won’t eat them.
Maybe that is why I have such good luck with animals as well. 🙂
They can smell us so…
yo dad whats for dinner
worms
worms again?
I know it might look a little gross for some but pretty cool dinner he has there!
