A nest of eggs in the front yard. I was out walking around in the yard a few days ago. I noticed a bird fly out of my miniature spruce tree. Of course I had to investigate. I had my phone in my pocket. I slowly walked over to the tree, peeked in and there it was. A nest of three eggs.
The first day there was one, then two, and now three eggs. One is laid every day. I snapped a few photos and then got out quickly. It took a little while to figure out what bird laid the eggs. They are a different color I have never seen before. After researching I discovered they are… Thrasher eggs.
I will keep you updated as they hatch, hopefully. The thrasher is aggressive during this time, so I have to keep my distance.
There are eight types of thrashers in North America. The Brown Thrasher is the most common type.
